This episode feels so close to home... I am 100% certain they had some consulting from someone who went through this... I've had to take opioids for chronic pain before... (I don't live in the US, they don't hand these out willy nilly here and my doctor warned me to be careful)... At one point I found myself, in the middle of the night... driving to different emergency nighttime clinics to get more because I had run out... not even because I was taking more than I should've, just because I had legitimately run out and needed more, and my doctors office wasn't open on the weekend... But at some point it started to click just how desperate I was getting... and how the pain I was in was so secondary to that... at best... Following Monday I talked to my doctor and went off the stuff... the hell of withdrawal only confirmed that this was the correct choice... Close call... and by far not the worst it could've gotten... largely due to lack of opportunity I suppose... but still... watching this episode, can't help but think back to it...
