Oh, man. When I was being bullied in school, there was no name or awareness for that. When I reported the abuse to my mother, she said - "you must have done something wrong, or otherwise these boys would not be doing that. You are difficult."

That was in 1981. I was dx'ed with ADHD in 2018. That ^^^ has caused much pain and suffering, and has forever harmed our relationship. No safe place.

I had a similar situation where I was told “Well why didn’t you say ____?” That is completely not the point. I shouldn’t have to stand up for myself. People shouldn’t bully me in the first place!
