Look, maybe I just don’t want to buy a gazillion figures to place on the map to represent the hordes. Or buy the figures that match the creature you’re encountering.

As a firm believer in lazy GMing, theatre of the mind is the way to go. Maybe a quick sketch of the battlefield divided into zones, Fate-style, but only if it's really needed.
