Logos, Seals, & Lore (Patreon)

Happy July 1st everyone!  So in an earlier post, there was half a seal shown for the Mare County Community College and it drew some interest.  So I figured I would show the full seal including a few other concept designs in the sketchbook we had. 

Starting at the very top is the Town of Ponyville seal.  It was first shown in the 2 years ago in the series in the episode, "The Moon Rises."  Back then is was slightly different, but still similar.  It read "City of Ponyville" originally.  It reappeared in, "Returning the Flavor" then once more in, "For The Pony."  In it's last iteration it read "Mare County" instead of Equestria at the bottom, but things change.  These are just rough ideas for the artist to follow.

The Ponyville Police Department Logo has a "north star" type design similar to Twilight's Cutie Mark.  We avoided doing something like a star we would draw in real life and tried to draw a star as how maybe it would be drawn in Equestria.  So we went with this simple design that also has the town city hall on it and Mount Altai in the backdrop.  The logo appears on their police cars, but police officers have a different patch that isn't the logo.  Confusing... I know.  The police logo can easily be seen in the episode, "The Journey."

Our latest design was the seal for the Mare County Community College.  The college was first seen in the episode, "Twilight Lecture" when Twilight meets Prof. Francis.  It wasn't until, "Prof Twilight" did we actually have a design for the college seal.  But now it's here featuring a traditional style native American inspired orca whale with Mount Altai in the background.

In the lore of Adorkable Twilight & Friends, Ponyville is a small-mid-sized town that is the county seat (head of government) for a mostly rural and forested county.  The County is called Mare County.  Mare County is part of a larger state/province which is part of the nation of Equestria.
