I showed this one to a colleague for feedback and they said it looked "grabbable". Interesting. Here I tried to apply the newest color approach. This time, the color serves and compensates for the lineart.
if there's lots of detail in the lineart, there's barely and shading or highlights. If there's areas where the line art isn't really occupying a ton of space, the shading becomes more free to suggest form and texture. LEEEET'S see how it develops over time.
