Rick Graham is pictured above. English shredder extraordinaire. One of Rick's favorite ideas that you'll hear him use frequently, is reverse pedal point. This is when you repeat a high note against other lower notes. Most often it's used in conjunction with a descending scale sequence. 

Bach, Mozart and other composers we quite found of this sound as well.
