Randy Rhoads was one of the most capable and musical shredders to ever live. He was a brilliant songwriter and technical wizard all in one package. The question is, what scales did Randy use to get that incredible Neoclassical sound? 

There's 3 main scales Randy used: Natural Minor or Aeolian, Harmonic Minor and Phrygian Dominant. Crazy Train utilizes Aeolian and listen to Mr. Crowley to hear the harmonic minor and phrygian dominant scales. I've included each of these scales in tab below for you to explore. Try improvising over an A pedal tone to find your own personality within these scales.
