"Things are based on fear here". The story of a Chechen guy who was abducted by militia and spent 11 days in captivity (Patreon)

Last Spring I went to Chechnya for a short trip. This southern region may legitimately be called another country, formally being a part of Russian Federation. A number of media have reported abductions and kidnappings of people in Chechnya since the official suppression of terrorists in the region and imposition of the pro-kremlin government in Groznyy. Ramzan Kadyrov, the current head of Chechnya, is one of the most controversial Russian politician. The loyalty of Kadyrov to Putin pays him off by having an absolute power in Chechnya. One of the side effects of his absolutism is harsh politics against members of opposition. Not just against actual members of political opposition movements but even against those who may have distinctive appearance and look too different than it is "appropriate" by local unspoken rules.
In the short talk that was hold when I was hitchhiking out of Groznyy, you'll hear the story of a Chechen guy who was abducted my Chechen militia. He spent 11 days in captivity, was tortured but luckily released.
