1. She is tied to a Yule Goat (traditional Scandinavian Yule decoration, a goat made of straws with red string ties keeping its shape), and the red string is used to tie her. 

2. She is being hung up on a Christmas card holder with wooden clothespins/laundry clamps. The wooden clamps will be holding her wrists and on her sleeves. The cards will have Scandinavian Yule motives on them.
