No pretty image this time, but today's update involved so much more actual work. It's time to discuss the next TLS update in detail, including a lot of elements where I hope I might be able to lean on the community a little for support.

Update Stuff

In addition to Vhala's quest, which is a capstone on a lot of variables, I want this update to fully polish the open world section of the game. This involves some additions, some fixes, and more! Except this time the "and more" is just work and details.

Other stuff I need to tackle for the update:

  • Finishing the new Stineford and testing at least a little.
  • Pieces I meant to do earlier. For example, currently Sarai can't join if you didn't pass a certain resolution at Gawnfall. The plan has always been to have a second way for her to join later, probably related to her personal quest.
  • Fix stuff I screwed up. There was supposed to be another key item in Nalili's quest that didn't get included. Now I have to decide whether to retroactively add it or what.
  • Add a character who tracks all endgame quests and can provide hints/direction, which I hope will be helpful for players doing everything at once instead of update by update.
  • And more!

Update Questions

1) The next update will include one more Shining Sword. Unless I've miscounted, that will bring the total up to enough for Wendis to give the last item. Am I right here?

2) It will also grant a Crystal of Stability. The intent is, after this, perfect play will allow someone to create every custom item.

3) My Steam reviews are getting hammered by people who have issues with controllers or remapping keys (we're down to 95% and could lose Overwhelmingly Positive T-T). I've already added a script for this but it's apparently not enough. Does anyone, but most likely other RPG Maker users, have any ideas for adding more functionality here?

4) Final open-ended question: are there any other details from the open world segment that seem incomplete that I may be forgetting? This one may be a tough question, because things like "The Succubus Holy knights haven't done anything yet" will be resolved later, but I feel anxious that I've missed something.

Alright, I think that's everything I intended to include this post. I'm basically a melted blob held together by discipline right now, but I decided it was better to finish this up. Please feel free to post if you have any feedback on the above goals and just be patient with me if I take a while to respond.

I can try to answer 4 to the best of my ability. Some of these are pretty borderline and not that necessary. I'm just throwing em all out there: Minor characters with potential additions to their endings: -Antarion got off pretty damn easy. It's been a narrative choice so far with him that bad people don't always get what's coming to them, but I doubt anyone would be sad to see him lose everything -Mithryns cult still isn't allowing anyone in -Andra is still sulking in Helvennas cathedral -Simon having a talk with the Feroholm lead priestess about where they stand would be nice. Forgiveness, accepting, apologies from both sides, lots of potential pathos. -Perhaps if Tak'Kan has advanced sufficently, Grubbak could finally look on his sprawling democracy with pride instead of careful scepticism? -Lucy? Maybe? She didn't really do anything after blessing Orcent and Kara's relationship, but she really deserves a happy ending. -Maybe I'm senile, but did Min's character arc ever reach a natural conclusion? She's been helping us out for a while now as a merchant, but I don't recall any "full circle"/"I finally did everything I wanted" moment -Implevon too, perhaps, since the other squaddie orcs all had their own character arcs. Then again, he was never as much of a character as the others. Investments that are currently pretty pointless/underpowered: -Lustlord temple expansion for 750.000 seems pretty pointless, and does nearly nothing to warrant it's high cost compared to other investments in part 4 in that price range. -Helvenna warehouse donations is a pointless dump for money, which never provides any benefits -Orc tunnels (200.000) are pretty mediocre? Honestly, it generally comes down to Chalice States score being pretty unimportant and easy to get. -Religious acceptance program in Helvenna after Gawnfall does not do anything important yet -Tarran'Kan housing (1.000.000/750.000) also struggles to justify it's high cost. It's impact on your playthrough is minimal (Though it's visually cool as hell to see those new houses) -Kyangan smithing has very low payout and nothing else. I'm guessing it was supposed to be necessary for a personal weapon, like givini smithing was, at some point? -The effects of the Zirantia investments like slum cleanup and infrastructure improvement haven't been felt yet. Same goes for Rodak and the OE, obviously. Hope it helps, and doesn't just make your work *more* hectic. Have a nice week!

I think the warehouse donations were meant to help players who did a lot of damage to the chalice states recover score to max Iris among other things, temple expansion carries religion score bonuses which start to dwindle near Gawnfall and expansion boosts Yelarel score if done before Gawnfall which could still come into play like Annah's. Orc tunnels might have been another catchup but for army stats but I'm not sure haven't run those numbers in a while.

> My Steam reviews are getting hammered by people who have issues with controllers or remapping keys Heh. As annoying as reviews from coomers are, they got nothing on reviews from hard core gamers.

Not exactly the cleanup you're looking to do, but I've been taking some notes on my current run so here they are: - In the 3AW, under Ardoheim Events > Military District > Blademasters Guild, you can interact with Antarion as Simon, and if you haven't previously interacted with him while controlling Aka, Carina, and Uyae, you'll see the scene with them in the party even though Simon is on his own. The 3rd event page just needs the Self Switch A turned off. - The Canid Abomination (264) has three skills: Corruption Surge (226), Tangling Tentacles (225), and Wind (262). All three of these skills key off of MAG. None of them key off of ATK. The Canid Abomination has 250 ATK and 10 MAG. - People in Yhilin, particularly wagons and people who move you around Yhilin refer to "Miner's Junction" and "Miners' Junction". I can hunt down all of the instances of the wrong version if you want to confirm which one is right. - During your first visit to the Elven Forests, siding with Orilise for the second time, you get a 3 minute timer while you go underwater at one point. I don't see anything happening if that timer hits 0. - The Lustlord 707 and 708 has a skill called Lustlord's Demsene (590 and 591). I never saw him use it. It is because it costs 100 MP and he has 0. I would typically have lots of feedback for a post like this but nothing is coming to mind that hasn't been said. I am willing to hunt down stuff if there is anything in particular you'd like someone to look into. I guess I'd put on the pile that I'd like a Liquid Sex even if I don't side with the OZL but you confirmed that's intended so Yarra will just be disappointed. I did find this interesting though: "The intent is, after this, perfect play will allow someone to create every custom item." Do you consider siding with the OZL to be preferable or did you just mean "a player can possibly create all of the unique items if they make certain choices"?

It'll take me a bit, but I'll try to get to all this. >I did find this interesting though: "The intent is, after this, perfect play will allow someone to create every custom item." Do you consider siding with the OZL to be preferable or did you just mean "a player can possibly create all of the unique items if they make certain choices"? The latter.
