October 28 Update (Patreon)

First, the new Steam pages are up! Don't Save the Princess and Once Ever After are projects still in the pipeline, but my data shows that it's better to put pages up sooner rather than later. So while you'll get better information here on Patreon, please do check out the links if you want to follow the projects:

Those will sit there and collect wishlists. The TLS page is still scheduled for the future, perhaps after another update. On that note, the heart of this post is about TLS 0.39.0.

I'm glad to say I've been making some really satisfying progress on it lately! To reflect that, I wanted to make a more substantial post hinting at what you can expect. Long time friend of the game "Bug Reporting" is to be thanked for helping me with all the new character edits in this post!

This is one of those sections that expanded compared to my first outline. Originally, I thought that this section would need some placeholder High Priestesses and more events taking place off screen. But since you guys have a wonderful appetite for politics and worldbuilding, I'm not going to be skipping over anything I think is worth including. Thus, you're going to get to see all seven High Priestesses:

The summit is more than just the seven, however. In addition to appearances from various characters you've met before, you'll also see a number of figures address the synod with new issues or participate in other ways:

Ultimately, you'll come out the other end of the council in the same place as my original plan: having made several decisions that will have an impact all the way through endgame. TLS is all about building up from the ground level, and after so many hours of gameplay, I think it's time to shape the world in a key way.

Just like the war against the Incubus Emperor was intended to be the broadest TLS ever goes, this council will likely be the most extended political section.* So I want to do it right! This might involve splitting things into two updates, like the previous council. Some of the votes have ended up dense enough that I think I want to check with players about how it feels before I build too much on top of that. More info later.

*I have plans for final events to be more intense, however, which I hope will be suitably climactic.

Finally, somebody made me a bat with my avatar on it, for reasons. Since it made me smile, I decided to go full cheese and made this:

So is the order Aram 1, Sarai, Aram 2, Hester, Andra's replacement in Yhilin, Bertricia, and Zirantia? 1 and 3 look ethnically similar and in line with Aram, which is why I think they're from Aram. None of them look overtly Zirantian, but Zirantians do like their colors. Also if we're going to a summit I demand souvonirs, namely Sarai with a side of Bertricia. Edit: Disregard my order, forgot Stineford even existed. Thanks for the reminder Lamsey!

Hyyyyyype. Nice work on the altered portraits :-) High Priestess name speculation time! I'm guessing from left to right: * Frumpy Aramite * Foul-Mouthed Cunt Of The Fukken Formerly Lost * Suprisingly non-frumpy Aramite * Hester * Bitchy McDesecrationface of Stineford * Bertricia * Not Andra Of the other participants, no idea apart from the continent's most eligible bachelorette and what appears to be the leader of the new Cumsecretionist faction on the right there. I also like the fact that one of the Sierrabats is either doing a barrel roll or has forgotten how to Sierrabat.

I think the last three are more probably Stineford, Bertricia and Andra's replacement. Zirantia has no High Priestess since most worship Antiala there.

Concerning splitting into two updates: I have to say, despite how excited I am for this event, I'd much rather wait for an extra update to get it finished, if it means the scope, impact and whatnot feel much better in the end.

The focus of the update is Ivalans and Church issues, but some other religions will indeed be making an appearance! Vera (Goddess of Magic) is there too, but she doesn't have a full size image.

I respect that, but in the end I'll have to see what works best. There are some unfortunate unknowns with my schedule. But either way, I intend the final version to have the full scope it needs. This update will also be far more likely than others to get balance changes later, or even larger modifications. Those wanting a single finalized experience may want to wait longer in any case.

Im surprised at some people's ordering though if I were to guess that it goes as such. Far Left Stineford Priestess from old Givini Saria Aram 1; Hester; Aram 2; Beletrice Yhillin replacement. Though am glad that the succubus Ivala followers have a place at the summit. Thought you have them excluded due to the nature of how most view them in the church.

So your telling me we will have a raid of you bats attacking this meeting, I am intrigued. Sillyness aside two updates for this political dish is quite enticing but will have me begging for more. I won't guess what all those people are since I have a hard time remembering people names anyway lol.

I'd guess woman on the right is Stineford's HP, but I may be biased by seeing her recolors used as crazy bitches in other RPG Maker games. Very curious that one of the elven petitioners is wearing a hat like Andra used to wear.

So, guesses on High Priesteses from left to right. 1) From Aram, 2) Best High Priestess of the Lost ever, 3) from Aram as well, but i get heavy Maranite feel from her, 4) Hesther, 5) Stineford, 6) Betricia, 7) and finally i might be crazy but she looks like she's from Ghenalon to me and she's likely Andra's replacement. Edit: Or for the twist, we could switch Stineford and Andra's replacemnt.

Quick question that may have been covered before. Has the game reached the point where saves can be transferred from older versions to the new without glitches and corruption? I've been holding off on another playthrough for the last couple updates because working your way through 40+ hours of content everytime there is an update is a bit daunting.

There's only been one update that broke saves, which was 0.8. Perhaps the better question is how we could do a better job communicating that fact.
