First. What’s up drev!?

I love love love the reaction. Your comedy was on point Vee! Hilarious as always. And don’t worry, you got a lot of fun movies still ahead. There are a lot of people who have their opinions on the rest of the franchise from this point but I think they all have their moments and it’s so much fun to be in that world again no matter how the story goes. So there is newer entries into the story. Episodes 7, 8, and 9 do exists though heavily criticized. I still had a blast with them. The cities you saw at the end were cities introduced in episodes 1 , 2, and 3. Each time episodes 4, 5, and 6 were released George Lucas would add new things to those to connect them further to the newer films. That’s why you see young Darth Vader as well, played by Hayden Christiansen. Though the reason you see him as his younger self, in my opinion, is because thats who he was before he went to the dark side. The original films had the actor who was seen in the suit but before he severely hurt. The effects are also just handmade models which was what they had to do at the time but that’s why they still hold up. It’s something physical being filmed and manipulated so your brain knows it’s tangible and that further places you in the world. It brings you in cause it’s all real. They still do this for certain things in current Star Wars properties. Embracing the love of handmade props and effects. And I’d be happy to answer, if I can, any lingering questions you have about this world. But I’m sure there will be a lot who can answer them just as well! Thanks for the great content!

Anakin Starkiller

Well you have The Phantom Menace next which is the beginning of Vader's journey. All your questions will be answered in that trilogy

Anakin Starkiller

And there is a sequel trilogy so it continues in 7 , 8 and 9

So many childhood memories. I was 9 years old when this came out and I remember vividly how my Dad and me drove from movie theater to movie theater and they were all sold out. That was way before you could reserve tickets or anything. But he wouldn't give up and we continued looking for the rest of the day. He was not the most patient man and I remember I was so surprised that he did not take me back home after the first try. Finally we arrived at one movie theater where there were two seats left way down in the front row. I can still remember how I had to look up during the whole film but also how immersed I was in that world. Looking back this is probably the fondest memory I have of my Dad. Just me and him driving around endlessly looking for a movie theater that had tickets left for Return of the Jedi. So yeah, this film means a lot to me.

Don't be said that it's over, be happy you've experienced one of the greatest trilogies of all time! ^_^

Im watching Star Wars since my Childhood and each time im again amazed how fantastic and timeless those movies are! Now you have seen the end of the true Skywalker Saga, so it is time to go to the beginning of it with episode 1-3!!! :-) Well they are maybe not as perfect as Episode 4-6 but they have their moments and are so much fun. If after them you are still wondering about this Galaxy, i highly recommend the Clone Wars Series (Season 1-6). But as said before, everything that Disney made has nothing to do with George Lucas' timeless Storys and his amazing Visions, they even trashed his original Scripts for Episode 7-9 ....

Anonymous

Oof, I agree. The Disney stuff is pretty bad. The Mandalorian is ok I guess.

This is an unpopular opinion, but I love Episodes 7 & 8. Don't love 9. And I don't love the prequels much. Clearly, the movies outside the original trilogy are polarizing and there's a lot of varying opinions. Regardless of what anyone thinks, you should watch them all and form your opinions. It's all subjective and valid.

I was 7 when I saw Star Wars in the theater. I had to be dragged to go see it, I thought it was stupid and I didn't want to see a stupid movie. I was muttering this until I saw the Tantive IV fleeing this neverending wedge of turborlaser mounts with this incredible music blasting...there had been NOTHING like this on the screen, I was entirely silent the rest of the film until Kenobi died, shouting "NO" right on cue with Luke... Of course, I've been a fan ever since. Watching reactions videos like this is a complete treat for me, it's been so long since I watched them for the first time, and this just brings all those feelings right back.

You've got another 8 movies!!! Don't be sad it's over because it is not! :)

Looks like the prequels are up next. They tell the epic story of the rise of Anakin Skywalker and his turn to the dark side. If you thought Vader was a complex and dynamic character, wait until you see his backstory and journey. The character of Anakin/Vader is in my opinion the most tragic character in the history of storytelling. The prequels got a lot of hate back in the day when they were first released, especially Episode I and mostly by older fans of the original trilogy. Some of that has persisted but for most Star Wars fans they have become cult classics. Being born in 1990 I grew up with both trilogies, the original trilogy was re-released in 1995, then the special editions in 1997, and then the prequels came out between 1999-2005. While I'll always prefer the original trilogy for introducing me to the fandom, the prequels are masterpieces in their own right. They do a great job of creating a style and atmosphere distinct from the older films while still being very much Star Wars movies, thanks to the famous opening crawl, the familiarity of George Lucas's storytelling, John Williams epic score and the return of old characters. The major complaints you'll hear about the prequels are that they're CGI heavy and the dialogue is often corny and over dramatic. I would argue that the CGI is not nearly as overdone as most recent blockbusters and while I dont blame people for romanticizing with the practical effects of the older movies, much of what took place in the prequels and the worlds they built simply could not have been done without CGI. Also, the dialogue in Star Wars has always been a little corny, its what gives it its charm. theres certainly no shortage of it in the originals and thats ok. Lucas has always meant for Star Wars to be very theatrical and Shakespearian. The only thing I will warn you about is there is a lot of politics and intertwining relationships that can be extremely confusing, especially in Episodes I and II. In fact, its meant to keep you in the dark a bit so dont worry about it. If you try and figure out every detail as its unfolding you wont be able to enjoy the movies lol. I suggest you just go in with an open mind and enjoy the ride. It all comes together in the end.

So Vkunia Fam got you on here with some insight, so they got you on that. With that covered I just want to say I am So So So glad you liked it!! I LOVE Star Wars! All of it. I think it is all so good the movies, shows, books, comics, in my opinion anyways. Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker is my favorite so it was great to see you give him some love at the end here. Uh, oh the bears are Ewoks. And I hope/can’t wait for you to watch the rest when you get a chance! Thank you for sharing your journey with us, oh and may the force be with you. 😊

Dude, that’s really not cool. Telling her that in itself is a spoiler. Don’t you remember how excited you were when...... what you’re talking about first hit you? It wasn’t that long ago, I’m sure you do, and until your reply, it’s unlikely Vicky knew anything about the series at all! You’ve just ruined one of the big reveals from the series for her and stolen that genuine surprise in her from all her fans if she does reactions for the series in the future!

Darren Withers

I’ll back you on that one. I felt like episode 8 felt a bit drawn out in the 2nd act, but the 1st and 3rd acts were solid entries with great pacing.

Darren Withers

Regarding Boba Fett, no, he was never a main character. He was a named character, and, Star Wars being a total of only 3 movies for so long, became a fan favourite for various reasons. As a result, he ended up having more of his story written about in a lot of Star Wars accompaniment novels.

Ok I finally subscribed to a patreon. You are the first one I have ever felt was worth it. Thanks for entertaining me.

The Sarlac was originally only a big pit with “teeth” and tentacles, the plantlike centre was added in during the remastering in the late 90’s for the 20th anniversary along with a lot of other minor changes, most of which were cosmetic, like the CGI for the Rancour which improved on the original stop motion version. There were other additions over the years, one of which you picked up on at the end. Originally, when Obi-wan, Yoda and Darth Vader appear in spirit form, Darth Vader was played by Sebastian Shaw, who played Vader/Anakin for his death scene, though looking decidedly healthier. After the prequels, he was swapped out in favour of Hayden Christiansen who was more recognisable for the newer audience who watched the series in Chronological order rather than release order (which is, I firmly believe, the wrong way to do it, you did the right thing). Also, the extra planetary celebrations were also added at the same time so as to include planets shown in the prequels. One last random piece of trivia I’ll mention while discussing SFX (that, admittedly probably should have been in your “A New Hope” replies). In the battle of the first Death Star, Luke was originally supposed to be in Blue Squadron, however due to the use of blue screens at the time as opposed to the green screens used these days, there were issues with the uniforms and insignias, so it was rewritten to be red squadron. This doesn’t really have any bearing on the main story, however, without spoiling anything, there was a fun nod to this in “Rogue One” that does add to the story once you realise the implications. Personally, it had me grinning from ear to ear while watching “Rogue One” because I realised instantly what they’d done.

Vader was hit by the Emperor's force lightning when he picked him up. It messed up his suit and mortally wounded him.

AnTonio

Yes The Mandalorian is realy solid and a lot of fun! I also like Rogue One very much but still, what is not from Lucas is simply fan fiction...

Star Wars is amazing I'm a big star wars fan

MotoDork

I can’t decide whether you should watch Rogue One or TPM next.

MotoDork

Also some day I hope you're able to see the films as they were originally shown in theaters.

vkunia

I know local theaters have done Star Wars showings like that in the past before to commemorate things - so maybe, and hopefully :)

vkunia

It's a tough one but you'll see which one is coming - soon 👀😁

vkunia

I can see why now it's so good omg, I had no clue it'd end up making me cry😭

vkunia

No way, I had no idea that he was written as a side character I guess from Battlefront and everyone always saying how great he was growing up I thought he had a deeper story! But now I see it came later :) Thank you for the info Darren!!

vkunia

Honestly I always made jokes about him being all means and stuff but I NEVER thought I'd end up liking his character so much. Seeing how he died made me so sad.... I need more Darth Vader. How could they kill off our boy like that 😭😭 I think I'll grow to like him as well the more I get to learn about his character :) It'll be coming soon Luis!! Thank you so much for the comment :)

vkunia

Thank you so much for the insight JMCN!! You know how frustrated I get when I'm confused LOL so thank you for putting that out there and giving me a heads up. :) I'll roll with it and watch it all fall into place like the originals 🤗 I've heard that about the corny writing / cgi but I LIKE CORNY STUFF so bring it on!!

vkunia

HOLY MOLY I HAD NO IDEA THERE WERE THAT MANY MORE LMFAO BUT STILL - it'll be a little bit different since its the OG trilogy that ended 😭

vkunia

That's so sweet. Thank you for sharing your experience being introduced to Star Wars :) I can only imagine how mind-blowing it mustve been, watching the originals in theaters. I'm a bit sad I wasn't able to experience it that way but I'm still glad I FINALLY got to watch them at all :) I'm glad I can help invoke those feelings once more, it honestly warms my heart so thank you for the comment and thank you for sharing. I hope you continue to enjoy the movies to come 🤗❤️

vkunia

I hear episodes 1-3 are extremely different than 4-6 and I can't wait to see why! I tend to have a bit odd opinions so who knows, maybe I'll like the films a LOT 😊 THEY REALLY ARE TIMELESS like not once throughout the films did I see the films being so much older play a part in the movies whatsoever. I think it's just as enjoyable now as it was back then. :) I'll keep that in mind with the disney films, fingers crossed they'll be good!!

vkunia

As my comedy was on point so are you with the answers to my questions!! THANK YOU SO MUCH PANA 🤗❤️ you always write such well thought-out, well-written, informative comments that bring more insight about each movie and I seriously love it. Thank you for feeding my braid all dis knowledge. I have a gut feeling I'll really like the first 1-3, I don't know why but I think I will. I tend to like cheesy/corny stuff and am always for the underdog so we'll see how it goes. I'll probably be confused by the first episode so expect a ton of questions there too LOL Thank you so much Pana, I'm so happy you really enjoyed the movie with me. 🤗❤️

vkunia

RX, thank you so much for sharing that story with me. That's such a nice memory and I can imagine why you cherish it as well as this movie so much. Your dad must've really liked the film and knew you'd like it too, that's probably why he tried so hard and kept his patience. :) Thank you for sharing such a wonderful memory with me, I'm so glad you ended up enjoying the movie despite being in the front row LOL (I've done it once before and my neck was killing me) I hope I brought some joy to you with this reaction and could help you relive some of those fond feelings/memories. 🤗❤️

vkunia

I'll have to keep that in mind when watching it :) Thank you for your well thought out comment and for the insight!! I watched the original ending for episode 6 and was wondering why anakin was played by someone else! So thank you for clearing that up for me as well. :)

Watch “Empire of Dreams” and “Within a Minute” featurettes on Star Wars. And if you don’t mind react to it and post it. They are not hard to find. Both should be on YouTube. https://youtu.be/vB1DA5jZdIQ and https://youtu.be/VgS3pt0yMvs respectively.
