Hello, everyone!
It's a wonderful, beautiful Friday. Well, technically it's 27 minutes past midnight into Saturday as of writing this sentence, and timezones are a fuck, but you get the idea.
As you all may or may not know, I finally finished the DVa comic, Data Collection, earlier this week. If you missed that, you can read the final 15 pages a week early by clicking here. This is particularly monumental because, as I have noted a few times before now, it was never meant to get this out of hand.
Those of you who have grown wrinkles and gray hair like I have might remember a time before the DVa comic, when I was working on the Rachel/Chaos project. The DVa comic was meant to just be a quick distraction from that - I was having sleepless nights for a week before, my mind running over the comic, so I decided to just spend a few days and just quickly put it together and let my mind refocus.
When I sat down to make the comic, the goal was to spend 5 days total on it, and have the final comic be about 3 pages. What ended up happening was it turning into a full-time project for just over 2 months, and ended up being 30 pages, consisting of 170 panels spread across 240 unique renders.
That was absolutely NOT the intended plan. But by the time I realized the comic was getting out of hand, I was too deep in. I didn't want to abort it halfway through, like I had paused Rachaos production to work on it. So I gritted my teeth, put knuckle to grindstone, and committed to finishing the comic. And so began 6+ weeks of 10+hour days, 6 days a week, chewing away at that comic. But by God, I finished it. And I am extremely chuffed with the result, though I'm not a big fan of how the psuedomotion panels came out.
BUT! With the comic done, that means I can return to my previous commitment, which is Rachel/Chaos. To say I've been chomping at the bit to animate something again, after 2 straight months of slaving away at placing over 1800 heart emoji in Photoshop, would be an understatement. And while my attention has been split between Rachaos and Overbreed, recent research breakthoughts have motivated and inspired me to finish working on Rachaos.
If you're not sure what Rachaos is, or you're hazy on the details, which I don't blame you because the last post about it was in February, here are a few convenient links. Here is the screenplay, and here are some early animation WIPs [and here's a direct link to the video if it doesn't play for you like it didn't for me]. I've included some of the mood/aesthetic pieces I've posted earlier as the second and third images of this post.
Indeed, while I was working on the DVa comic, I was also working on the new DazV5.5 standard. The standard and Sombra were co-developed, and the standard brings a novel new solution to both aesthetic and technical issues the genital flexes had. On an aesthetic level, it solves the issue of them distorting the crotch mesh surrounding the genitals and making them look really ugly - and on a technical level, it allows the genitals to open to true circles. Previously, they opened to ellipses, which limited the size of things that could be shoved in them. Once the oval reached its maximum length on the shorter axis, all of the extra length on the larger axis was waisted, because cocks tend to be cylindrical, not ellipsoidal.
These two technologies synergy flawlessly with Rachaos, however, whose design principle is literally "as big as Rachel can fit." She is my quintessential size queen, narratively given a literal blank-check to take on as large a dick as she can imagine taking, without any pesky details like anatomy or internal organs getting in the way. The only limitation on her is the limitation on me - I am pushing her mesh literally to its limits, getting every last millimeter of dick into her that I can.
And with these new morphs not only allowing more to fit into her, but for it to look better while doing so? You'd be crazy to think that wouldn't excite the puzzle-solver on me.
Unfortunately, despite what the first image of the post suggests, I can't actually size Chaos up anymore. While her butt can handle up to 33 chonking inches of Chaos love sausage, her pussy sadly cannot. It appears when I made these animations, I already capped out the long-axis of her pussy flexes, and apparently just #yolo'd the short axis clipping like no tomorrow. And since these genital flexes only widen the short axis, and don't affect the long axis, it means her pussy can't actually take any more than it already was.
And while the cock getting bigger would fit the narrative and Rachel's size-queen attitude, I literally just exercised that exact idea in the DVa comic, and don't want to retread that ground. And so, unfortunately, Rachel is just going to have live with his cock being over two feet long, rather than just under three feet long. I don't know how Rachel will manage, but she'll live.
Today was spent mostly on researching ways to exaggerate the jigglebones on Rachel, to get a more hentai over-the-top bounce. Unfortunately, after several hours of trial-and-error, I've come to the conclusion that it'd be better for me to just leave them the way they are, and animate the exaggeration manually. I can get them to behave moderately well (though not quite as I wanted) in exactly one specific motion, but then they look magnitudes worse in literally every other position.
In the end, I decided that muted jigglebones that look okay in all poses is better than exaggerated jigglebones that look pretty good in one pose and absolutely dogshit in every other pose. Adding the exaggeration isn't that difficult - fixing incorrect motion is a different beast altogether. It's a lot easier for me to hand-add something that's not there, then it is to hand-fix something that is.
So while today didn't provide any forward progress, it wasn't a wasted day. There's no such thing as wasted days in research. The point of research isn't to be productive, it's to learn what works and what doesn't. And today, I learned that exaggerated jigglebones don't work. I can now take that knowledge forward with the rest of the work.
The next few days are going to be spent going over all of my notes and what all work I've already done, just reorienting myself into my workspace basically. As I said, it's been months since I last touched this project.
Once I've got my bearings, I will be updating all of the existing animations to use the new and improved DazV5.5 genitals. While they won't allow Chaos to be any bigger, they will allow Rachel's crotch to look much better as she takes him, which is already a huge step forward in production. Aesthetic is important in this industry, yeah?
From there, I will put together a new plan of attack and start chomping through all the animation that remains. As always, I can't give you any ETAs. I don't know how long this will take me. All I can say is that I am feeling extremely confident that this project won't be ready before June. There is a ludicrous amount of sex in this project - I have 10 unique sex loops built already, and that's only about a third of all the sex animations needed. Less, if you want to count all of the creampie sequences too, which while derivatives of the existing sex animations, nevertheless still need to be animated separate from those sequences.
Note that I am not saying you can expect it to be done in June. I am saying you should not expect it to be done before June. The chances of it taking even longer than till June are far from zero.
But, as always, I will keep you all apprised. One week at a time. That's all for now, everyone! Until next week!
