"The Wilderness" - Script & VA Reveal (Patreon)

Hello again, everyone!

Just a little update on the Wilderness project. If you've been paying attention to my Tumblr the past few days, then you probably know that I've been spending a fair amount of time researching and constructing a scene for Wilderness. Among other things, I revealed a scenebuild (that was later binned and remade), and put together and released a forest map using high-quality grass models.

This post is for the other half of the project.

A few days ago, I approached a voice actress for the position of voicing Lulu. My concern was mostly about her being comfortable voicing a lusting woman getting fucked silly by a dog, but some conversation revealed that to not be the case. Indeed, the more voice actresses I interview with SEM, the more I come to realize that if a woman is willing to lend her voice for adult material, then chances are she's pretty darn deviant. I've had women describe their fantasies of being ravaged by monsters and being violated by tentacles to me - by comparison to some of the things I've had shared with me, four-legged love seems pretty tame.

That being said, we went over the script together, and she is satisfied with what I have written and had no qualms about it. Furthermore, she relieved a secondary concern of mine - not being able to really capture Lulu's spirit - by revealing that Lulu is one of her favorite Final Fantasy women, and that she is excited for the chance of giving voice to the character. So her ability to capture the character is not an issue - now it's only my writing that is a point of failure.

We set up a date to work together to lay down lines for the project on the 4th of January. She is going to use voice chat to work with me, bringing her computer to her studio and having the microphone input go both to her computer and to her recording equipment, so that we can work out the details of expression and have it record all in one take, to be cleaned up and finalized in post.

With all of the preamble out of the way, I would like to formally announce that Miss Poppy has been chosen to give her exotic flair to our exotic Lulu. It will be the first time (to my knowledge) she's given voice to a Source Filmmaker production, and I am hoping, if everything goes well and the project is well-received, it won't be her last. I have a few more ideas involving Lulu in the Wilderness mythos - not all of them bestiality, and not all of them involving wolves - and I would love to have Miss Poppy star as her official voice.

With the reveal of Miss Poppy's voice, I am also posting the finalized script, for everyone to read and critique. It is attached, but you can also click here to read it. It strays a little bit from the storyboard in its beginning, and a fair ways in the end, but the meat of the video is still very much the same.

Looking forward, I intend to spend the next few days working hard to get as much of the animation done as possible, prioritizing the sex scenes, since they are very important when laying down lines, to make sure the attitude, timing, and exertion of voice fits and makes sense with the animation it is tied to.

The picture tied to this announcement is from what is most likely the most difficult animation involved in this project (seeing as I've done doggystyle quite a few times, both with humans and beasts). The basic motion is done, which is all we need for recording, and so I shall move onto the other motions. Once the sex animations are done, I will begin working on the rest of the motions, before going back and fine-tuning everything.

I am thinking the next update on this project will be some time after I get the final recordings of Lulu's lines. It will probably be the first three shots of the script (with the shot of the wolf replaced with a placeholder, for safe posting on Tumblr), fully animated, choreographed, and voiced. It probably won't have much additional audio-work done, such as Foley and ambiance, since that is the very last thing I do.

On a final note, I think I have decided I will just keep the title of Wilderness. I might give it a supertitle or subtitle though, maybe a parody of "Final Fantasy". EG It'd be something like "Final Fantasy: The Wilderness" or "The Wilderness - A Final Fantasy Story". Just need to think of a good parody title of "Final Fantasy", because I don't want to use the actual name in these parodies. I'll think on it.

So yeah. That's where the project is now. Just thought I'd keep you all up to date.
