Progress Report - April 22, 2024 (Patreon)

Hey all.

Making this open to all Patrons, because it's not really a formal Progress Report. I am still back with my family, as part of my spending two weeks with them in the wake of my uncle's death and celebration-of-life service. I will be returning the afternoon of Saturday 27th, meaning I won't be able to get actual work done until Sunday 28th. So don't expect much of a Progress Report on Monday 29th either.

As I anticipated, I haven't had much time to get any work done. I've done a bit of work on Catsuit Liz, and manages to sneak in making the posters you see above, as well as a few smidgens of storyboarding. But it's mostly just been writing that I can get away with.

 The posters above are, if you haven't already figured it out, basically my "pitch posters" / moodboards for some of my candidate ideas for the June video. Oh yeah, it's gonna be a June video now, because 2 weeks ago I put up a poll for you all my Patrons as to whether or not you'd rather I spend an additional 2 weeks on Overbreed or immediately start work on the next short video - 38 to 12, or a solid 76% vote in favor of more Overbreed. You can click here to vote in that if you haven't yet.

So just doing some napkin math, I don't return until the 28th of April. 2 more weeks of Overbreed then puts us at the 12th of May before preproduction begins for the next video. And that is preproduction, not animation. That's writing, model-work, and storyboarding. Depending on what the video ends up being, that could take as few as 3 days. Or it could end up taking 3 weeks. All depends on the video and how much work I have to do for it.

In the days running up to the 12th, I hope to have project pitches and quick write-ups for each idea, and to run polls both here and on Twitter (separate polls, so I can weigh the input differently) to see what idea people are most interested in. I have 10 ideas currently sketched out, though I can tell right now that a few of them are too big to fit in a single video (such as the DVa idea), and some of them are currently too nascent to be considered - if I can't figure them out in two days, I'll push them off to a later date.

All of which means it'll probably be somewhere past May 20th before the production on the next video begins. Assume 6 weeks for production, and we'd be eyeballing the end of June for the release. So yeah. It's a June video now.

I'm not happy about it, but I couldn't exactly do anything about my uncle dying, so those 2 weeks were out of my control. And then you all voted for me to spend another 2 weeks on Overbreed. So that right there is a full month delay on the next video.

It is what it is.

At any rate, that's all for now. We'll see if I can't manage to squeeze out a few more pitch posters in the time between now and when I head home next weekend.
