I think you’ll really fall in love with the characters in My Hero Academia and The Dragon Prince! As it looks, I don’t see them making the top 3, but I hope you’ll get to them at some point 🤞🏼

i dont wanna overhype it but fullmetal alchemist brotherhood is the avatar the last airbender of anime. it is a masterpiece of worldbuilding, storytelling, rounded characters, musical score, etc. it has everything.

I have to agree. Its mature, emotional (very much so at times), funny at times with good action. But is not a pure action anime it has a lot of a mystery with lots a twists which will be good for reactions.

i just know you would absolutely LOVE attack on titan, and your reactions would be spectacular to that show. it is the the most phenomenal show, with the best writing , It was the show that made me realize that anime is actually a great genre of storytelling and can make the most compelling media

Oh I see what you mean. It finished 3rd in it's poll, but for the "top choices" I did anything over 100 votes. Which may have helped it's chances because out of all of the choices it wasn't even in the top 15.

cyberpunk has my vote, to me its a masterpiece. plus its short (10 eps) so its good for reactions, and it hits hard

I put in a vote for Hazbin Hotel because it's so short and fun (8 episodes). That said, this poll is hard because there are so many great shows; including two of my favorites (Steven Universe and Gravity Falls).

Attack on Titan is the best thing I have ever watched. I certainly recommend watching it, but I’m good with Cowboy Bebop and Death Note as well. All are different shows tho. I recommend watching the anime Monster in the future as well, since there are hardly any reactions to it, and it’s a masterpiece

Ive been saying this since like book 2 of atla, she's suuuper perceptive and thorough so i really think it'd be great if she watched something so complex like aot

Lots of great options on here - FMAB and Attack on Titan are two monoliths in anime in terms of cultural impact and are sure to bring in a huge (and new) crowd of subscribers, which can be great, but also just be prepped for a swath of folks to the channel for all it might entail. My personal votes would go to Castlevania and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners since theyre both series with shorter runtimes that can work in conjunction to reacting to other shows and both deliver a stellar narrative and performance from the cast (not that 'short runtime' should be the end all requirement for reactions, ofc, but something to consider if planning to watch a couple of these eventually!). The narratives for both series are concise, but still complex despite the shorter runtimes, and frankly they both approach animation differently than 'anime' - animation quirks and anime tropes can sometimes be a bit too alienating for a new audience to take in all in one go. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is an anime with the most convincing English dub performances, the mood and characters are made appropriate for a dismal cyberpunk dystopian future - whatever that term might mean to us now, anyway. I feel at least the US is reaching that dystopian future, but that's a conversation for another time ;) Castlevania is a western animation with a gothic backdrop and has the political intrigue, machinations and 'characters-challenging-their-personal-philosophies' type dialogue that reminds me of Game of Thrones. Its filled with Easter eggs and references from the games, but still extremely enjoyable without any prior knowledge, much like Arcane. I would love to see Cowboy Bebop as part of these shorter running shows too since it was a staple of the early 2000s (Toonami) generation of anime watchers. The characters make for great study but the setting imo takes front and center as a love letter to the film/neo noir genre. There are still great shows on this list that I hope you get the chance to check out eventually!

For TV shows, Cinebinge reacts to poll winners for a season, then puts the next season on some future polls. I feel like that's a good option for respecting a long show as a popular request, while not committing to spending the rest of your life watching and editing it.

The only reason Steven Universe isn't winning by a landslide is bc it's gauging what we wanna see, not what she wants to see. Cuz anyone who's seen that show knows it's like made for her lol. She'd absolutely love it. Gravity Falls is a good match too, it's very ATLA in that it's a cartoon but surprisingly deep. These are all gonna get pretty similar votes cuz they're all... good, in their own way. Fullmetal is a good anime for her to get more into anime. But I think Death Note would be the most engaging for her. Futurama and Harley Quinn are good rest days shows for her to watch and have fun bc all other shows we have her watch are emotionally draining lol. Attack on Titan is great, but the community that watches it can get toxic quickly, like Star Wars level toxic. There are channels that started it and didn't even end it bc people will go crazy on difference of opinions.

I'll always recommend Cyberpunk: Edgerunners in these situations. It's short enough to be gotten through in about a month. It's complete and self-contained to its own story. It encourages engagement by bringing up, but not fully explaining things that are big in terms of lore and world building, but aren't relevant to the characters such as the corporate wars and the old net. Also, it doesn't really have a lot of anime-isms that can be jarring to people that aren't really used to seeing them. Hopefully, someday you'll be able to experience that wild ride.

Legit the post beneath yours, from another reactor I sub to, is saying he's dropping the series because of how toxic it's become and that he hopes people wont leave the channel because of it but that it's no longer fun for him to bear through the attacks :X It's pretty much the only one on your list whose community is like that. Picture all the people commenting that the thing they voted for is off the list and you having to say that there's a list for "losers" and etc to mediate many times but on a larger scale :/ But the show IS cool and a pop culture icon referenced in so many things that it's worth watching for that at least.

I understand completely. I still cannot watch the first season without getting a headache, but it gets immediately better in season 2 and by season 3 everything is fine. So yes, I definitely think that you should push through that first season.

Angela, I would say if you are going to even consider Attack on Titan you should choose to watch the sub rather than the dub. The voice acting in the Japanese language is gripping and emotional. While the VAs for the dub aren't terrible I think it would be doing a disservice to the show if you did the dub version. Whatever you choose though I will be keen to watch as I love your analysis and reflection on most shows. Much love x
