I added this answer before I watched this episode but I’ll leave here anyways. -------------------------------------------------- I didn’t see anyone mention what Alex was doing in the last episode that you were confused about and I am reasonably sure it’s not a spoiler so I’ll spill what knowledge I remember from the show and books. While the Roci crew were were on Luna, they got their ship repaired and got a new toy as well. That toy was a shiny new rail gun. Alex was testing it out on a nearby asteroid to see how well it worked. Also, you are from my same generation and seem to have humor like mine so I’m going to recommend a show that I watched a while back and enjoyed its dark humor, Future Man. It is a Hulu show, and I thought it was pretty funny. It is only three seasons so it should be an easy watch. Hopefully this is a good place to do a recomendación.

I sort of sympathized with Morty in the beginning, he did after all get terror bombed and was lucky to survive, I'd be pretty pissed too.
