I snorted the first time I heard him call her peaches (peach Melba) For Bobbi I guess she has been trained to compartmentalise her emotions to get the job done while Amos has had so much trauma in his life that he is numb to a lot of it

Fun fact: Bobbie says, "See you, Rana," as her sister in law leaves. That character was named for Rana, of the Normies reaction channel, after the authors met them at a Comicon. Confirmed when they met. Edward Israel has the science team (Elvi, Fayez et al) but also the RCE (private security there to enforce the Inner-sanctioned charter - headed by Murtry). The RCE thinks the belters are squatters. The belters got there first and think they have a rightful claim to the planet, which, as Chrisjen mentioned briefly, is practically *made* of Lithium and can make them extremely rich. Both sides are sure they're right. The scientists just want to "science." Holden is stuck in the middle trying not to "put his dick in it." Protomolecule is there and now has an "antenna" on the Roci. Miller is looking for something. What could go wrong. Mars has never experienced unemployment before. Bobby was tearing apart a warship for parts and junk. Did you notice the bar called "Firehawks" in the background? Alex was wearing that beanie in the very first shot we saw him, back in S1E1. I really really love book 4's descriptions and treatment of all the ways Ilus (New Terra)'s biome is different than Earth's. It goes into fascinating detail of an array of different manifestations of how a separate tree of life may be alien to our own. And the flora and fauna are truly alien in the book, which would have needed an Avatar-level budget to do on the show, so no mimic lizards... Still, the show looks beautiful. Notice that all the shots on Ilus have a different aspects ratio and use anamorphic lenses, for that spaghetti western vibe.

One nice little detail that's easy to miss is how gravity constantly pulls Naomi down - you can see her labored walking to the camp from the Roci. She really sells it.

Yes, however, that doesn't mean that all marines will act the same way she does. They still have to make the choice of what "(the right) job" is that they want to get done. That's where she and the other marine differed, I think.

If you watch the edited version, Rana is edited in there 😉 I did notice that the look of Ilus is very different. Now It totally makes sense considering the aspect ratio.

I definitely get the feeling that most marines are trained to just think mars is 100% right no matter what. And Bobbi definitely has a mind of her own.

I definitely noticed in episode two she’s constantly breathing hard. Which I’m sure was supposed to be more obvious considering the cardiac issue. But definitely you can tell it’s harder for her.

Almost forgot: Dr. Elvi Okoye…another character to add to the favorites list. I really enjoyed the character here (this season).

The first outing with Amazon, I was excited when this season came out. Show had been cancelled and bezos, being a huge fan of the books, took it upon himself to make it happen. Might be a controversial take but losing expanse after season 3 may have been worse than what happened with firefly. When I saw Alex put on the hat the first time, I thought, leave it to the Martian to bring his own dome 🤣

I haven't noticed it consistently, but I understand the best way to gauge time passage is by the guys beard growth. Going from the ring to Earth took weeks if not months. Ilus is also weeks if not months from the ring. I think the book gives the time, but I can't recall.

I think Amos has a tiny schoolboy crush on Chrisjen. It’s kind of cute that the first woman that he’s expressed any kind of outward physical interest in is her.

I've read through earlier comments, but I haven't seen mention of this. When the image of Proto-Miller does that little jitter is when he "exceeds his boundary conditions", and the protomolecule kills him and reforms the Investigator. It's a good detail to watch for since it's a hint when Proto-Miller is thinking along lines the protomolecule doesn't like. I also haven't seen mention of the Belters comm screens. Next time you see one look at the word at the top of the screen, and say it out load, phonetically, with a Belter accent. The company name makes me smile. Edit: Never mind. I just watched the next reaction, and you already noticed the deal with Miller .

Now you know our sadness about being done with the show and this first time watching being something special... so, the next best thing we can have to this first time watching experience is thankfully to reactors (I have to admit I hate using that word for people, love the technical thing described by it though 😅) like you. So thanks again for allowing us to join you on this amazing journey. And yes, that score of Clinton when they step onto Illus is another tearjerker like "The Ocean" when Bobby finally sees the ocean for the first time.
