I don't know how The Boys manages to hit that grey area of being both emotionally devastating and absurdly gory but... it does. Somehow, it does and while I'm glad it'll wrap after 5 seasons, I will absolutely miss these characters. But, that does mean we have 3 more episodes and a whole other season to look forward to plus more Gen V at some point. So... "Go on, son. 'ave a li'l bump."

Dads really have been having a tough time on your channel of late. There are some in-jokes with Simon Pegg’s scenes to lighten the mood a little. For one, there’s a whole episode of the sitcom Spaced (which he made with Jessica Hynes, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright) in which his character loses his job at a comic shop for venting his hatred of Jar-Jar Binks at a child. Secondly, calling Hughie “Wee Hughie” is a callback to the comics, in which Hughie is Scottish and usually referred to that way (or Petit Hughie by Frenchie).
