Steven Moffat is one of those people that inspires Big Feelings in the Doctor Who fandom. Some people LOVE him, some people HATE him, some people love SOME of his stuff while hating SOME of his other stuff. Nobody is ever neutral on him. Eventually you'll go the same way: Whether it's good or bad, you will feel STRONGLY about him. DW was a weekly show, not bi-weekly. I suppose there were occasional pre-emptions for special events (like any TV show) but it was never planned to have a two-week gap. Except for between seasons. "Are you my mummy?" is definitely a byword amongst everybody who watched these episodes. Enter any DW space and you'll eventually come across it repeated ad nauseam at the slightest excuse, because it left that big of an impact.
