“Roland, it is so nice of your to join us,” Relena said, seeing that her son had come at the perfect time. The prince needed to learn what it meant to give an actual gift.

“The pleasure is all mine,” he said, smiling at his mother and precious younger sister. “And I welcome the crown prince.” He didn’t like the crown prince, though etiquette needed to be followed.

“Ahem… I’m certain that you just said that my gifts weren’t worthy of my fiancé,” Julian said back to Roland, annoyed that the attention which was supposed to be given to him was focused on Roland.

“With all due respect your highness of course they aren’t worthy,” Roland said snapping his fingers, allowing a maid to bring out a small plate of cookies for Rosa. “In order to give a present you must first understand what my sister likes. Those sweets you brought are the ones that my sister hates the most. She prefers small doses of sweets and never likes to partake in heavily frosted cakes like the ones you presented.”

He was right. Rosa wasn’t a fan of eating such sugary foods, small sweets like cookies were much more enjoyable for her. In fact, she couldn’t stop herself from partaking in one of the cookies right now, slowly slipping it under her mask.

“As for those “toys,” Rosa isn’t a fan of them,” Roland said, picking up one of them, before dropping it. “Despite only being two years younger than me, she spends more time reading than I do. She would prefer books over toys.”

Once again he snapped his fingers and a maid brought out the sequel to a romance book that Rosa had been recently reading. Though instead of being happy she found herself embarrassed. She was only reading the book because it related to her current situation. It wasn’t like she liked reading books like this or anything.

“And finally the dresses you picked out, do not suit her at all. Rosa works better with reds and darker colors, bright clothes like that would never suit her.”

“…Brother…” Rosa knew that he was trying to help, but he was going a bit too far now. She couldn’t care about him humiliating the prince, but she wasn’t comfortable that she was using her to do so, it was embarrassing. And she could pull off bright clothes, she just didn’t want to.

“Sorry, my sister is right, I shouldn’t have insulted your gifts, but I had no choice,” Roland said, sitting down next to Rosa to irritate the prince even more. “My sister clearly didn’t like them and needed help expressing that. It’s a shame, but if you could take them back that would be most appreciated.”

“Thanks for the advice, but I’m certain that she will like these in time,” Julian said arrogantly to them, still not understanding that Rosa had no interest in him outside trying to get away from him.

“Your Highness I am sorry, but I don’t believe that I will,” Rosa said to him, seeing that if her brother continued talking, things would just get worse. “My brother is correct I don’t believe that these gifts are suited for me. You can take them back.”

“Nonsense! These gifts are for you,” Julian said, insisting that she keep them. “In fact, I’ll have my servants bring them to your room right now.”

“No, that won’t… be necessary…” Julian didn’t even bother to wait for her answer, before deciding on what he wanted to do. Several of his servants began to pick up the presents, bringing them to her room.

“Don’t worry, the pleasure is all mine~.”

Ugh! His mere smile sent shivers down Rosa’s spine. How could such a foolhardy prince exist? Relena and Roland had to hold back their anger in front of the brat. His time would come, eventually.

“I think that you’ll like wearing brighter clothes. They’ll make you stand out more. Oh, and I don’t think that at our age you should be reading so many books. Mother says that it is a lady’s job to look pretty, not to read. Playing with dolls would suit you much better.”

Rosa was surprised that the system would give her options which she was more than willing to do. The prince thought that he could buy her affection with trinkets, but she wasn’t that type of girl. She would show him that she wasn’t someone that would be easy to control.

“Your Highness, thank you for your words of wisdom,” Rosa said, glad that the mask was preventing her from yelling death threats at him.  “I think that I will play with them right now,” she said walking over to the pile of gifts that had yet to be moved, picking up one of the dolls in the pile.

“Wow, what amazing craftsmanship. To think that such a work of-“

CRACK!

The arms of the doll in her hands broke at the joints before she dropped it on the ground.

“Oh no~. It looks like this one was made of cheap material. Let’s try the next one,” she said, picking up one of the teddy bears.

RIPPPPP!

“Hmm, this one as well? That’s odd.” Rosa continued to pick up toy after toy, destroying them and tossing them to the ground beneath the prince’s feet. “How is it possible that all the toys the prince bought are defective?” Rosa was having fun. While her tone wasn’t expressing it, she was having the time of her life, destroying the gifts the prince brought her in an attempt to win her affection. Though why just stop at toys?

“I better check the dresses to make sure that they are alright as well,” she said picking up a gaudy pink and yellow dress covered with ribbons and frills.

RIPPPP!

She wasted no time tearing it apart, much to Relena’s and Roland’s amusement. They were happy to see that Rosa was standing up for herself in the best possible way. They would have done the same thing if she hadn’t.

“I’m sorry your highness, but I do believe that all these items are defective,” Rosa said, standing over a pile of torn dresses and toys.

“…It… it seems so…” Julian was shocked that most of the gifts he got for Rosa were destroyed by none other than her. “I guess my fiancé only has the taste for the finer things. Next time I will have to bring you even more gifts!” It was fine, if she didn’t like these gifts, all he had to do was get better ones. His father was always buying his mother expensive gifts. He would just have to keep buying her more gifts until she was happy.

[Congratulations! You have successfully destroyed the presents given to you by the prince earning yourself 20 Villainess points and an additional 5 Villainess Points for exceeding expectations. Your impression of the prince has worsened. He will now see you as a spoiled girl that loves expensive gifts! Keep up the good work~!]

“Your Highness that will be unnecessary,” Relena said to him, seeing that Rosa was starting to teeter as she sat back down. She was still tired from before and needed rest. “Rosa is getting tired. She has still not quite recovered from the party. If you could please tell us why you have come today that would be most appreciated.”

“Fine, if you must know, my mother has sent me here to tell you that she will soon begin my fiancé’s crown princess education,” Julian said, happy since that would mean Rosa would have to stay in the castle with him.

“Your Highness that won’t be necessary,” Relena said, angry that the queen would dare to covet her daughter. “I shall be the one in charge of my daughter's education, especially after her recent accident.”

“My mother told me to tell you that it’s impossible for you to teach her because you aren’t a queen. Only a queen can be in charge of the education of the crown princess. You aren’t needed.” Julian wanted anyone that would try to keep him away from his fiancé. Without them around he could have her take off that foolish mask.

“I’m sorry, but the queen must have forgotten part of the contract. My daughter’s education is mine to take charge of. She has the right to supervise, but no more and no less. Certainly, this is what she must have meant.”

Rosa was glad to hear this. Based on their last meeting she could tell that the queen didn’t like her. She was afraid of having to spend time alone with her. To be honest, she didn’t want to interact with her at all, but this world wasn’t on her side. If it was she would have never met the crown prince.

“Grr… fine,” Julian said, growling to show his displeasure. He knew that if his mother personally taught his fiancé, it wouldn’t take long for her to fall head over heels in love with him. This old hag just had to interfere. “My mother also wishes to invite my fiancé to a tea party, in a few days. She wishes to get to know her future daughter-in-law.”

“If that is the queen’s request then so be it,” Relena said to him. The queen loved to show off her power. She wouldn’t try to harm Rosa there. She may try to belittle her, but she would make sure that Rosa was prepared to fight back.

“If Rosa is going then I am as well,” Roland said, refusing to leave Rosa alone with any member of the royal family.

“My fiancé is the only one invited. No one else will be attending. Mother wishes for this to be an intimate get-together,” Julian said to Roland’s disappointment.

“Hmm. Very well,” Relena said, knowing that the queen was up to something. As for what it was that was still a mystery. For now, all should do was prepare Rosa the best she could.

“That sounds wonderful.” While Rosa wasn’t thrilled about meeting with the queen, so long as it was just them she wouldn’t have to worry that much. “I can’t wait to see what she has prepared for me.”

“Good. At least my fiancé knows how great of an honor it is to have tea with the queen,” the prince said standing up from his chair, before going over to Rosa and kissing the back side of her left hand. He had hoped that this would sway her heart towards his, but once again he couldn’t tell what she was thinking behind the mask. Though at this moment it was better that he didn’t.

Rosa wanted to throw up as his slimy lips touched the backside of her hand. She never even gave him permission to kiss her hand in the first place. She would have to ask the maids to thoroughly clean it after he left.

“Thank you, your highness,” Rosa said, remaining calm thanks to her skill. “I would see you out, but I don’t have the energy to stand at the moment.”

“Hmph! Probably because you are too impressed by my beauty to even stand,” Julian said confidently, making Ros feel even more disgusted. “I look forward to seeing you in a few days my love~. I can’t wait.”

Rosa watched as he was led out of the garden. The moment that he was out of sight, she laid her head down on the table. “Mother, I need a nap”
