That was an impressive come-from-behind win for Miyata, but damn, what a hell of a risk!

How can you improve your counter when you don’t have natural punching power? “I’LL JUST CHUCK MY BODY WITH IT!”

You could definitely see Miyata being the protagonist of this series if it was differently written. New hopeful gets knocked out of the rankings early on and has to claw his way back back to the top to take on his rival again. Shows how well fleshed out the characters of a story are when you could see them as potentially the main character.

Was that zoros va in the crowd, sounds like it

When you're hearing the "rain" I bet Curtis can attest it's a rough day at the office yikes

god Miyata and Ippo are both the best and worst rival for each other, even when the others not there, just the thought of the other pushes them on, it's what's got them so far in their careers, but it's also what's messed up their bodies so much, Ippo shattering his hand so bad you could see bones poking through the skin during the rookie championship, and Miyata bleeding from the ears with a concussion.

I once saw a documentary about Muay Thai, including a scene where a dude got carried out in a stretcher, bleeding out of every orifice in his head. With knees and elbows being involved in fights, broken skulls are probably not that unusual a sight. So I'd guess the Thai crowd is used to much more of a blood bath than is common for boxing matches 😬

The way the jolt is portrayed here reminds me so much of when Marquez KO’d pacquiao in their 4th fight.

Ya you know, just your average boxers doing things on an average level. Nothing too serious and perfectly healthy.

I can say that - for me, without a doubt - in the days back when I used to get into the occasional altercation in the street, what I learned in Muay Thai was the most effective for preventing my ass from being kicked.
