Yeah, 'Tubby' is clearly a joke character. "Master of flying weapons" ? Certain someone might have different opinion. ... On a different note, I think Curtis will be disappointed with Ichigo twice and answer: "Yes I am!"

Id def say some of the reapers a bit of douches. Kinda like having "that" co worker but since you work as a grim reaper their are a ton of coworkers so more chances to have jerk ones. Its like having the population of a small country as work mates. Also remember how you kinda defended the soul reapers for following there law to destroy the Quincy when Uryu was seething for revenge. Well now they are following a law that states execute Rukia for breaking a law. Although as we saw Renji didnt think she would be executed and thought the punishment was a bit harsh. We also see the timid guy who was tending to Rukia seems to worry about her too. Then you have baldy who seems to just cared about the fight and honor for it. Kenpachi clearly has enemies within his own team of the soul reapers Rukia's brother calling him low class scum basically, and Cuphead has a issue with him too. Aizen the captain with glasses thinks somethings up he just hasnt explained why. Gin (snakeface) is facing judgement for not killing Ichigo's team when he could of for some reason. So we see from just under half the captains they all have different viewpoints and ideas about one another. And we still have yet to see more than half the captains closely. Clearly we have many personalities that dont mesh 100% as a whole.

Oh I don't know if you knew this, but Kubo Tite (the creator and author of Bleach) biggest inspiration was Toriyama.

Fun fact that I don’t know if you noticed. Curly as you call him had the same voice actor as Edward Elric, Nagato, Tobi, and Broly.

Don't remember if you have a nickname for the guy that captain at the end hoping for test subjects, but I will say that he's an... interesting character. I remember loving him because I'm a bit of a sucker for mad scientist characters (within reason).
