Daycare part 2

Cindy had the text book definition of a despondent look on her face as Margret plopped her back onto the daycare floor. The diaper that was taped around her waist was even thicker than the one she had on previously. To add insult to injury, this one had little blocks of text with the word “BABY” spelled out multiple times on the waistline. These diapers were meant for someone who wasn’t supposed to even know they had to go to a bathroom. They were wearing their potty around their waist, and Cindy knew it. Just the idea that she was in this thick of a diaper was starting to mess with her head.

“What? Why the long face?” Margret said in a condescending tone. She crossed her arms, then slightly lifted her left eyebrow to shoot a stern look at the diaper girl. Cindy just squirmed a little in her diaper. She was feeling so strange in this new diaper. It wasn’t doing anything to her, but in her mind, she just felt so childish. How could she have let herself sink to this status? How could she let herself get diapered in front of someone practically her own age, and then mess herself in front of them? She was telling herself repeatedly that she wasn’t a baby, but was that honestly true?

As if on cue in her mind, her emotional control started to break down. If she was going to be treated like a baby, then why not act like one? She let anger swell up to the surface of her emotions. She shot a fierce face back at Margret.

“You don’t know anything. I’m not some stupid dumb baby! Why you think that?” She said. Her grammar and vocabulary seemed a little off in that sentence. “But if I’m a baby, why should it even matter?” she thought quickly in her mind. Margret slightly recoiled from the sudden response. A quick, “Uh!” boomed in disgust from Margret out of shock. She leaned back toward Cindy with a pissed off face.

“Why do I, think that YOU are a, ‘stupid dumb baby’? Hm? Why on Earth would I think that? You want to play that game? Fine. I’ll play baby ball with you. Let’s start going down the list, shall we?” Margret said, her posture straitening out. She was in complete control of this situation, and both sides knew it. “Let me ask you Cindy, what are you wearing?” Margret said in a condescending questioning tone. Cindy rolled here eyes at the question. Still though, her new rebellious babyish thoughts compelled to her act on her first thoughts and emotions.

“A diapie!” She said, trying to sound like the baby they want her to be. She told herself she was just doing this to get back at them, but way in the back of her mind, she knew that wasn’t entirely true. She just felt weird in the diaper. It was as if her subconscious was thinking, ‘If I wet and mess diapers, need to be looked after in a daycare, look like a baby, and talk like one, then am I really a baby?’ It was slowly breaking down the pillars of adulthood that held up her mind. It wouldn’t be long until all if it came tumbling down.

“Yes! Now are grown, potty trained women going to make messes in a diaper? Hm?” Margret said, but Cindy didn’t even say anything back. She just stared at the woman, not quite sure how to respond to this. The moment hung in the air between them. Cindy’s smirk faded and was replaced by a neutral serious look. It was as if she was getting scolded by her mother. The rebellious feeling in her started to fade. A few more pillars in her mind tumbled to the ground. “See? You know I’m right here. So, you really think you’re a grown woman right now? I just watched you mess a DIAPER. That’s something a baby would do. Babies make messes in their diapers. You didn’t even try to make it. Babies are the ones who don’t even try to make it on time. You didn’t fight me at all when I started to change you. Part of you really thought you’re a baby huh? Literally anyone else would have fought me off and ran out of here. Not you though. No, you stayed. Because I bet part of you really knows you need this. Part of you really thinks you need to be in diapers and wear them all the time. You need someone take care of you, why else wouldn’t you have gotten up to leave yet? To me, you may be a bit taller than a baby, but that’s literally the only difference.” She said, reverting to her stern teaching voice. It was as if she stopped talking to someone who was the same age as her halfway through. The two of them firmly realized the true nature of their relationship. Margaret was the strong adult figure, and Cindy was the baby who had to be put in her place.

There was silence between them again. Margret’s words were reverberating through Cindy’s mind. Every sentence hit her like a ton of bricks. “She’s… right.” She thought, as one of the last pillars of adulthood fell from her mind. Everything came tumbling down around her. She realized where she was. In a daycare, meant for little kids who had to be looked after during the day while their Mommy’s were at work. She was strapped into a thick diaper that was a clear sign she wasn’t making it the potty any time soon. She had just been scolded, not by someone her own age, but by a daycare working that was putting her in her place for acting out. It was all too much. Sure, maybe Cindy was an adult when she walked into this building. But now? She was a baby. She was a diaper filling, dumb bumbling baby. And her mind locked right into that roll.

A thumb glided up to her mouth for comfort. Within seconds the room was filled with the sound of her thumb popping in and out of her mouth. She didn’t even think about it, she just needed comfort from all of this. A few tears started to form around her eyes from the weight of her realization. “Me.. Baby..” She thought, not bothering to think of any proper way to form sentences anymore. That wasn’t what babies do, and she was one, so why pretended and be something she’s not? Margret just shook her head as she watched Cindy sink into babyhood again.

“You’re so pathetic. Look at you.” Margret said. Her words were like a wrecking ball to Cindy’s mind. She let more and more of her adult mind go with every scold. She felt a slight twinge in her bladder and just let it go immediately. Nothing even slightly held her back. She might have had potty training before, but not anymore. That’s why she was wearing her diaper anyways. The classic Hissss sound could be heard by both, as the front of diaper grew dark and yellow.  In a way the warmth comforted Cindy. She made a mental note to wet herself to make the situation a little better next time she was getting scolded.

“*Sigh* I see you’re done listening to me here. You’re already zoning out in your now wet diaper. Come on little one, let’s get you some toys to play with.” Margret said, motioning for Cindy to follow her. Cindy just nodded her head. She got on all fours and crawled over to the sudden pile of toys Margret dumped on the floor. She picked up the first plushy toy she could find, and popped her thumb right back into her mouth. Her mind was numb and empty. She was done having any kind of thoughts of rebellion or escape. Maybe there was a time for all those things before, but not anymore. No, babies like her would never do that.
