"Love Interest again, watching them, with love"

Oak

This is the first time we’ve gotten completely new visuals in the opening, and of course that also came with a new ending. I will miss Hunting For Your Dream though. That guitar to signify the end of the episode never got old, though I do love this one as well. I love that the Troupe are just like, “Hmm, that game seems cool. Let’s go play it.”. Feitan’s Hunterpedia did mention he was interested in Greed Island, so it’s cool to see he was the first to jump in. Oh, and Spy x Family definitely took some inspiration from a certain part of this arc. Looking forward to gaming with the boys with my life at stake!

Haha! I'm excited for you to meet her. She's a great character. That's all I will say, obviously don't wanna spoil!

Sometimes general fans complain about this arc, but honestly it is truly amazing and I think you will be an absolute sucker for it, there are genuinely parts of this arc that I think are made for you especially with the ways you appreciate the show.

Chris Sharpe

Seems Kurapika had to taste his chains to learn to summon them. Never thought anything of it until I saw a meme questioning how Kastro got his clone in that case, now you will also be cursed with this knowledge.

The world expands, and the other characters have other things to do! and that's why I love this world because not everything/everyone revolves around Gon.

Personally, I would have preferred to be in your shoes as opposed to having this lens turned inward and admiring myself. You've talked about this in previous reactions, but I was someone who was somewhat praised for various things when I was younger, and it made me buy into this idea that I'm competent, smart, etc. It's a slippery slope because it can easily become a toxic trait due to its ability to easily become some sort of standard you begin to compare or measure others against. That's how things like a superiority complex/arrogance/ develop, and I had to undo a lot of that throughout my twenties and still now in my thirties when I realized how disabling it actually is. Humility can really only shine when you move the spotlight away from your own identity and self-image and point it on others. It also allows you to act in true expression of your nature without getting in your own way. While I may still know I'm competent in various things, it's become now as you described - just a baseline. No longer anything noteworthy for myself. This also removes the pressure of trying to constantly live up to some constructed image of yourself. The mind has a tendency to quickly identify with that which it finds pleasing. If it begins to identify with a quality it admires in itself, and then along the way, you fail to meet its expectations, then that admiration can quickly turn to condemnation and criticism. Admiration gives birth to disgust/criticism, because they're two sides of the same coin. So if you have one for yourself, you must be willing to accept having the other, and the other side isn't as pleasant... Anyway, I'm rambling. But all this to say, that the grass may not necessarily be greener on the other side from where you are now with your current relationship to and perception of yourself, in my opinion :).

Oak

Totally agree. I think it often gets overshadowed by the much more popular arcs, but there's a lot to enjoy. I just love the whole concept and am looking forward to seeing it again!

:)Please like this so I know it’s acknowledged haha. I’d recommend against watching the next arcs new intro (that isn’t until like episode 77 or something) but it’s the longest arc and will spoil important villains with cool reveals that come better naturally through the arc. Ignore this if you enjoy watching intros regardless though. It’s also cute how Kurapika asked how gon and Killua were, just to pass out immediately after hearing they were ok, it was all he needed to rest again.

I can’t believe it, but you made me look forward to the greed island arc, which I normally skip in my rewatches. Not because it’s bad necessarily, but at least for me it kinda gets overshadowed by the arc before and after it. But rewatching this series with you has made me appreciate all the little things I normally don’t, and I believe that this next arc is one that you will truly appreciate, which in turn will make me appreciate it more.

Please skip the openings in the future… they somewhat spoil the next 30 eps (especially bad in the chimera arc). Reactors in the past have watched the opening after mid-arc to not get spoiled and still enjoy the opening sometime later with the audience. theres a opening in the chimera arc that actually spoils half the cast 10 ep‘s before they get introduced in the show

ODIS

yeah I'd also recommend him skipping it for at least 10 episodes. (Though you should probably comment this when he's nearing the end of Greed island arc.)

As a fellow Jack of all trades who felt forced by circumstance to specialize for the PhD, I'm particularly appreciative of the defence of well roundedness, openness to new experiences, and the value of making connections. Self serving to like it, but I would like to think it's true.

Manny

There better not be any spoilers in the comments people

Arakis

Hisoka ever at schwing distance.

Arakis

I assume that the OP and ED are scenes happening inside the game... which means the cute girl is most likely, in real life, a 40yo Hunter with the same body type as Killua's otaku brother.

Arakis

Not at all, this is my first time watching alongside Goodwin. I wasn't even interested in watching it before. Did I get it right?!

agoodwintv

Haikyuu really helped me think about this in greater detail. Ultimately I think there are unique strengths to any position as long as there are fundamentally solid traits backing it up like interest, work ethic, positive spirit of exploration, self honesty, etc.

agoodwintv

Good point, I understand the side of things you're describing quite well. I guess it's a problem of finding that sweet spot between not being overly self-critical and allowing yourself to get positive feedback from yourself in the ways you really have earned it vs. not being over-indulgent with self admiration and maintaining an honest humility. There is another way that self-pointed lens can go horribly wrong, when you end up playing a role or glamorizing or romanticizing your own shortcomings, in a sense becoming attached to behavior or attitudes that are not in your best interest.

ODIS

Indeed, same with suffering. Many religions and philosophies try to feed the idea that suffering is somehow auspicious and noble. While I do believe that more wisdom can be gained from suffering than pleasure probably, it's definitely not something to glamorize either.

Cori Curry

i promise you will miss the ending when it’s gone. i also said that i missed the phantom troupe arc ending but then BAM when this one was gone i actually cried lol (and then i liked the next one even more). tbh they all just fit their respective arcs so well that idk how to explain the feeling i get when they change.

Arakis

I saw the girl's first scene in ep.61, now I wanna look it up!!!!
