We actually saw Noabito in Maki’s flashback, where he said “I will give you challenges worthy of that pursuit”. When you saw this originally, you said it seemed like he wasn’t actually trying to prevent Maki from becoming clan head, and there’s a reason for that. You see, age and blood are a very small factor in determining clan head, and they are mainly determined by Jujutsu abilities. Noabito’s technique uses a very modern concept, animation, and techniques like his didn’t exist a century ago. Because of how archaic and traditional Jujutsu society is, techniques such as Noabito’s are looked down on as not being “proper” jujutsu, meaning he was actually handicapped in the line of succession and made up for it with hard work. He’s still a sexist, not very good guy who made things hard on the sisters, but he believes in a system of work ethic, results, and thinks that no one should be prevented trying just because of the traits they have.

Yeah, there’s no other way to talk about it other than acknowledging how much it fucking sucks. The JJK team has displayed such a deep passion for adapting the source material and clearly wanted to put out the best product possible and MAPPA is taking their love of the series and twisting it into something terrible. I hope the last 5 episodes of the season are as bad as they’re rumored to be so that MAPPA can’t sweep this one under the rug and are forced to confront the fruits of their ethically bankrupt management.

Totally agree, and its equally sad when you realize that you can copy and paste this exact same sentiment with countless other anime, only changing the word "Mappa" to a different studio name. Mushoku Tensei Season Two had a great story to tell, but the animation quality took a massive drop off from Season One's movie quality level budget. Just absurd after the extreme success of Season One that they would decrease the quality for a sequel instead, at the very least, retaining the same budget. One Punch Man Season Two had a massive fall from grace after the first season. It was one of the most popular and iconic anime of all time and now its forever tainted because of its terrible sequel season... Demon Slayer had what was probably the best animated episode in the history of anime in the climax of its Second Season, only for Season Three to stall for as long as possible while barely achieving half of the quality fight scenes Season Two had. Attack on Titan was turned into an iconic masterpiece by the legends over at Studio WIT, only for them to drop the series at the very end leaving MAPPA in Season 4 to be forced to use CGI titans, which looked terrible, limited action sequences, and terrible ugly changed character designs. And forcing them to turn the final season into Part 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. etc. just so they could have a somewhat presentable release. My Hero Academia, while making a come back in terms of plot for Season 6, has taken a massive budget decrease since Season 5, and has not reached even close to the heights of Season's 2 through 4 animation, despite the shows incredible financial success. This trend in anime of decreasing animation quality when the shows are extremely popular and get green-lit for sequel seasons is just absolutely ludicrous, and the exact opposite of what (for the most part) we do in the West. When movies or TV shows in America get very popular and make us a lot of money, the executives put in even MORE time and money into sequels/prequels/spin-offs. There are a million examples but off the top of my head the main ones would be The Legend of Korra, Clone Wars, John Wick, MCU, DCU, Star Wars... I could go on forever. Sorry for the long reply but I needed to rant about this somewhere because its pissed me off. And now Jujutsu Kaisen is the latest victim to this industry norm. Sad.

Hate to be the blackpiller here but neither of what you guys want is going to happen. The episodes will be forced out on schedule as planned, the story will be ruined for thousands of others, and nothing at MAPPA will change because they will just replace the animators that are trying to fight back with younger talents who they can continue to exploit, while outsourcing any animation not yet complete for future shows. The industry will not change in the slightest, and JJK will forever be tainted. Its fucking Joever. Time to stan for Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. Who could've guessed Madhouse would have the best production of this anime season against its rival breakaway studio, MAPPA.

Yeah I unfortunately doubt that worker conditions are suddenly going to get better because of angry twitter and Reddit posts. I guess I’m just going to hope against all evidence that MAPPA execs take this as at least somewhat of a learning experience and at least give shows the bare minimum time required to be produced properly (but that’s not going to happen). I also really hope that none of the directors/ animators return to work for MAPPA in the future. They deserve way better than this and while animation is underpaid in general for what they have to do, they deserve to at least be able to have a life outside of their projects.

So I just got done watching your my hero academia series and now every time in jjk when someone comes on screen that I don't know or with a curse technique that I don't know, i 100% expect the screen to freeze, text to pop up and hear Present Mic give their quirk rk exposition. Mha has ruined me but I wouldn't have it any other way
