As an anime only, I was a little disappointed at the thought that we had this fake Geto occupying our Geto but the prospect of him making a return has me ridiculously excited and emotional.

Jake White

Btw idk if you’ve ever seen it, but the curse user pair walking up to confront Mei Mei and Yuji, were actually curse user versions of Finn and Jake from adventure time lmao

Another great reaction, I really like how invested you are into this show and seeing the craziness unravel with you is a treat! Can't wait for more:)

Him: pronoun Definition- Gojo Satoru Synonyms: The Honored One, the Strongest, Jogo’s sleep paralysis demon. Used in a sentence: “Gojo will always be him” “What ever happened to Geneva the Weeba?”

Me normally in JJK videos: “I get volcano head is unlikeable, but isn’t this level of hate a little excessive?” Also me when ponytail guy shows up: “DIE VERMIN!!!” When speaking of the different curses and what they believe, you need to remember that they are manifestations of humans’ worst desires. In a way, volcano head and hanami are not being true curses, as they try to morally justify their existence and evil through higher goals (much like many real people do), Mahito simply wants to live solely in accordance to his desires, making him more of a true curse than the others.

Jake White

Yeah I actually have mad respect for Jogo. He’s one of the strongest cursed spirits we’ve seen other than Mahito, has now managed to survive 2 fights with Gojo, and compared to the others he’s got a somewhat selfless outlook where he’s focused on doing what he thinks is best for curses overall, no matter what happens to him. But blonde ponytail dude? Erase this clown from existence lol. Side note: I find it hilarious that he asked the white haired monk person if he could enter the veil after finishing his job, and they just smiled and kinda bobbed their head lol. Cause they know that this ponytail dude is weak af and only good at bullying the weak, so once he’s taken out the assistant supervisors outside the veil he’ll have finished his role. So entering the veil (where all the actual strong sorcerers are located) is practically a guaranteed ass-whooping he’s walking into and they know it lmao

Also, one more point, I think that Mechamaru telling the sorcerers about the plan would prevent him from getting his body. Given the fact that the binding vow was basically to be a mole for them, I doubt that he would get his body back if he ratted them out (although it is telling that he could have potentially told them and suffered the consequences, but didn’t). You can see that Mechamaru’s first action when he got his body back was trying to contact Gojo, but fake-Geto cut off his communication with a barrier. Wasn’t a perfect plan, but I guess hindsight is 20/20.

There’s been a lot of discourse in the JJK community about Gojo’s character. A lot of people seem to think that because he’s so flippant and nonchalant in situations like these, he doesn’t really care about his students because he’s essentially their only hope for long term survival and he seemingly isn’t worried about being taken out. I think those people are really missing the point with his character though. Gojo’s long term goal has always been to raise a generation of sorcerers that are strong enough to create meaningful and lasting change in the Jujutsu world. Of course he has faith in their abilities to handle the situation, if he didn’t have that faith then that essentially means his work for the last 13/14 years to teach and save students like Yuta, Yuji, and Megumi has been for nothing and he’s still right where he started his journey in the first half of season 2, alone at the top of the mountain holding everything up by himself.

As a manga reader I didn’t and still don’t really like the whole fake Geto reveal, especially when we just got a arc learning about Geto and his tragic fall and then to replace him with someone we know very little about.

Jake White

I like it cause Gege basically managed to make the audience just as upset and distraught over the loss of Geto as Gojo was lol. It hurts and is confusing and unsatisfying, just like losing a friend in real life. I love it for everything it sets up in the future

agoodwintv

Yeah good point. I think the students are his main focus in doing what he does, not the society itself

agoodwintv

A lot has been said about this already but I still wonder if watch order would change the experience. Like going from season 2 episodes 5 to JJK 0, back to season 2 episode 6

Chris Sharpe

I know a good chunk of the fandom tends to lump geto in with fake geto when talking about how good they are as villains, but fake geto is a different beast altogether and I personally love the stuff that he brings to the table as a fellow manga reader.

I think the difference between Mahito and Jogo lies particularly in their type of curse; Jogo is a natural disaster type curse, a more traditional fear where he has a sense of natural order and rationality attached to his ideals that curses follow their goals to maximise their group utility (which resurrecting Sukuna would do for curses overall, even if he gets killed in the process). Whereas Mahito is literally a curse representing human hatred which can be both order and chaos so regardless of his actions and how illogical his personal actions may be (killing their guaranteed victory of Sukuna's host) he believes he is acting as the ultimate form of a curse.
