One more episode... We need more Kyoto Animation shows on this channel, after March comes in like a Lion I push heavy for any one of the many other KyoAni masterpieces that take this same vein of slice of life/romance anime.

Megan

Facts would love to see more of their works on here too.

Why do I feel like Goodwin would love K-On! Need to see Goodwin vibe to Fuwa Fuwa time before I die

Megan

@Benj Funny timing, I just finished watching all of K-on! and I adored it. 10/10 show. Despite being a “light” show compared to most other things I watch, it hit me right in the feels, especially at the end. Tied with Violet Evergarden for my favorite KyoAni show (granted I’ve only seen like six of them). Curiously to see how Goodwin reacts to it since its unique to the things we seen so far. Still I would love to experience it again with Goodwin!

@Megan Amazing to hear. I finished K-on! for the first time like 6 months ago, one of all time favorite pieces of media ever made, and my second fav anime of all time right behind KyoAni's and Naoko Yamada other series Hibike! Euphonium. And as lighthearted and wholesome as K-On! can be, yes it also hit me in the feels many times especially some of the episodes towards the end of season two and the movie. For me, no show expresses the joy of being with a group friends that share a common interest than K-On! does, it just captures the innocence and joy of youth like nothing else, alongside being a straight up coming of age story with amazing character development. K-On! is perfect. FUWA FUWA TIME.

Brimmy

Yes please K-On! was very good (its been 2 years since i watched it!? what!?? where'd the time go?!)

Brimmy

Violet is just SO COOL AND BAD ASS how u just gonna stop a shell from a grenade launcher like come on

Clannad might be a good choice as well as it has a large focus on romance and drama unlike K-On! which might be more of what Goodwin wants to see. And its quite a popular show. Hyouka could be great as well, those would be my top 3 KyoAni shows for Goodwin to watch on the channel when thinking about it realistically, there are some smaller KyoAni shows made by Naoko Yamada like Tamako Market and Hibike! Euphonium that would be the dream for Goodwin to see but both those shows don't have very large fanbases, although they are cult classics for sure and masterpieces in there own right, just like K-On! which was also made by Yamada.

This episode always felt different for me than the rest and I realize it's because it focuses less on the series' major theme of "What does 'I love you' mean" and more on the secondary theme of life after war. In this case we focus on characters who one can say the war is not over for them yet. Violet, Dietfried, and the rebels, are all still fighting the past war one way or another.

This series really has gone by fast. I suppose now you've gotten to taste the final cliffhanger after all these self contained stories haha. But for real, I think if episodes 10 and 11 were meant to really showcase how far Violets come and how both valuable and burdensome the things she's learned can be, these last two episodes are definitely here for Violet to decide what all this means for her going forward in her life. Really perfect for the Captian to be the one to force her to face that decision too as you can imagine he's been dealing with so much of the same, not just now but since Gilbert died, and has possibly been using Violet as a way to avoid certain realities himself. Also Love to see people talking about more KyoAni shows! Certainly a lot of great options including K-On, Hibike, Clannad and definitely Hyouka. Personally, I know my choice for a Goodwin reaction would be Chuunibyou. Very fun and whimsical, should scratch that romance itch, and still with a lot to say and think about. Could be a ways in the future but I waited for you to react to Violet Evergarden and that happened, so I can't be that delusional. My wait for Chuunibiyou starts now!

benj

Chuunibiyou is one of the few KyoAni shows I have yet to see, and is by far the most popular KyoAni series I still haven't watched. Would love to see it on here.

“Stop trying to make war happen!” “It’s a terrible feeling when you’re convincing yourself you can’t do things you actually want to do,” “It’s hard to see your own value. The good you do starts to feel neutral, and you can’t experience it in its fullness that other people experience it, unfortunately. You’re just left with the pain,” “This guy has resting ‘tch’ face,” “Once you’re familiar with something or someone, and have a certain level of affection for them, you start to be able to forgive their flaws,” “They’re severely understaffed, considering this is the special envoy for peace. Haven’t they watched anime?” “You don’t have to kill him, but you can, you know, kick him around a little bit,” “What do Violet and Thors have in common?” “NO! Why do I care so much about the amulet?” “That safe world you believed in was kind of a lie,” “Sometimes tragedy is just that. It’s just tragic. That’s it. There’s no greater cause. Things just get ripped away from you,” “War will be a function of human life as long as human life exists. Tragedy will be a part of human life as long as life exists,” “That anything beautiful can exist at all is a wonder,” “The real thing to avoid-even if you don't believe in the goodness- is to not become the evil,”
