i've been so excited for this!

agoodwintv

See description for time stamps! Also, no TYE this week. I'm down 1 computer as my laptop caught fire yesterday

Megan

On fire?? I hope you weren’t hurt, take it easy!

Megan

Can’t wait for this. Thank you for taking the time to make such a long video!!

benj

Mmmmm! Goddam, Jimmie! This is some serious gourmet shit!

Francesca White

im actually really happy that you love Kimi, she's one of my fav side characters and a lot of people don't like her but i think she's hilarious

Francesca White

this has been just SUCH an amazing journey, i remember being so happy when you chose to react to Fruits Basket because it's my favorite show of all time, and it's been elevated even more through your commentary and insight. thank you for choosing this when you could've chosen a show with a much bigger viewership

jdthebud

Are you going to post this on youtube? I think it would be nice.

Lysieblu

Really enjoyed rewatching with you.

Nick

That'd be nice but I wouldn't blame him if he chose not to. A company could probably strike you for having a fruits basket Q&A video, although if disputed you'd win I'd think because there's 0 evidence of copyright infringement

Nick

I'm too high to properly appreciate the answer you gave for my aot freedom question but I can say confidently that it was a great answer, thank you

MagnusVD

you reacting to this made me discover it, and it's nice to try some other anime that isn't shounen that I usually watched

jdthebud

I also wouldn't have thought to watch this without Alex either. I'm sure there are a lot of us here.

Geneva The Weeba

"Stop me if you've heard this before" NEVER. I, too, love hearing time and time again how ERWIN SMITH singlehandedly, (withthehelpofafewscouts) saved the world from the strongest military to exist.

Thank you for answering my question! I view relationships very similarly so it felt so nice to have such a serious response! I was selfishly disappointed that my name wasn’t in the patreon credits during the Fruits Basket videos, so hearing my name in this QNA made up for everything!

Thank you so much for the time you've put into this series! I've always loved Fruits Basket, but being able to watch it for the first time vicariously through you and being able to hear your insights on it has given me even more appreciation for the absolute master piece that it is. I do have to say that I disagree with you on one take you had in this video. I actually don't think Kyo would be as volatile now and in the future as he has been through out the show. One of the biggest points of his growth was letting go of his hatred and anger. He used those things to protect himself not only from his own mistakes, but also as protection from the world. He believed that his mere existence was a sin and that the world was constantly punishing him. One of the reasons Tohru loves him is because she can see that under all that he's very kind. In my opinion, I think after letting go of all that hate and anger he's going to be very gentle. We already see in the show how gentle he can be with Tohru, and that even when he still had all that anger he would consciously work on controlling that anger when talking with Tohru. I think that now that he doesn't feel like the world is out to get him and he isn't hiding from his mistakes by disguising them with hatred towards others (Yuki), he can relax and let himself be softer towards people. In terms of being a father, I actually think he'd be able to be understanding and patient as he knows VERY well how impactful a parents words can be on their children. I think he'd try to model himself after Kazuma as a father.

I know this is the FruBa qna but HAS ANYONE SEEN THE NEW AOT EPISODE YET??? 0_0 What the actual fuck. I need a 40 min Goodwin reaction minimum to unpack that episode holy mother of god.

Geneva The Weeba

I'm gonna be honest here: When you said you liked Uo's backstory, I *REALLY* thought you were going to talk about all the drugs

Nick

Thoughts on the Q&A now that I am sober! I think the reason Kureno and Momiji's curses broke is a combination of the promise withering naturally over time, as well as something to do with Akito's own psyche. I personally think the fact that Akito was going through this turmoil is what pushed the bond to break, meaning that Akito is the reason it broke. I think I theorized this in season 2 at some point early on. Or it could be that, and something tied to emotional maturity. Momiji became one of the most mature characters in the show, and was the second one to lose his curse. As for Kureno, I'm not totally sure. It's wild for me looking back at my old theories, I was completely adamant that Akito was the snake zodiac, and then Ayame got introduced. I did pin down the Kyo/Tohru and Kyo's mom + tohru's mom connection but it was also a loose theory. For a while I thought to myself: "damn did Kyo kill Tohru's mom or something?" lol

Nick

Fruits Basket also spurred a lot of introspective thought for me too. I consider myself to be pretty lazy at times, and Fruits Basket (really Yuki's and Kyo's characters) inspired me greatly to get up and do something. There's no point in standing still for years on end. If you have a conflict with yourself, it's your duty to challenge it. That's what I took away from Fruits Basket. I would finish episodes in season 2 laying down in silence thinking to myself: "what do I need to do to push myself forward?" I even copied down a quote from Yuki to remind myself what I should be aiming for. The only shows that have had this particular impact on me are: Re:Zero Violet Evergarden Mob Psycho 100 Fruits Basket All four of these shows forced me to face parts of myself I wasn't proud of.

Crystalrose

You saying "controversial" right before you say anything about kyo is genuinely making me crack up every time lolol!!! But thanks for this amazing Q&A I'm so glad i was able to see this before the end of the month. It was a really fun journey 😊💐

This was a pleasure to watch, thank you!

That movie reaction better be coming down the pipeline!

Is the movie out in the west to watch?
