I have to be honest I was having the same feelings you were about this season. It just felt meh, but then this episode to the finale are amazing! Weirdly I feel like the new writers intentionally made the first half of the season frustrating and off character so they could return to form near the end of the season and get everyone hyped again. Sort of like Sour Patch kids, first they’re sour and then they are sweet. 🤭

If they did that, it s very bad writing. Bc every season should be pushing towards a better version of our characters. The season is wasted if we start and end with the exact same people no character development. If I could skip this season entirely, and go to season 5 and not be in complete confusion, that is a fail on the writers part. (Also, you can't have character development on a trait that is already known. Ivy would never join the l.o.d its already etasblished. So to make her act out of character just to make her go back to who we know her as at the end of the season is realll lazy.)

I’m not saying it’s a good thing, just saying I think that was their strategy. Honestly this is the weakest season so far.
