For anybody confused, this is all the Iona interludes packaged together with some polishing up and an entirely new chapter that wasn't in BtDEM

Thank you. This will make rereading the series a lot easier

So, how do I open this on a windows pc?

if you don't have an Epub reader there are free safe epub to PDF converters just a googlesearch away

Jo

I would recommend the calibre program as an e-reader. It also does really good conversions between e-book formats. A few versions ago the pdf-conversions included in this program also got really good in both directions.

Question I was enjoying Elaine's more Healer-mage vibes and knight types aren't my jam cause I'm a absolute sucker for magic so I didn't really read Iona's side stories beyond a couple chapters. Looking at the most recent chapter of BTDEM would I be missing something critical if I didn't read this? Also if Iona starts dabbling in magic and isn't just a melee fighter I would try it out.

You'd be missing a lot of world building for Iona's time period. Presumably Elaine will soon be learning much of it, but you'll miss out on the dramatic irony of knowing what she's walking into before she does. There's also obviously characterization for Iona and understanding what's going on in her life (it's no more predictable and quiet then Elaine's is). As for magic, Iona's third class has swordmage vibes, but she only got that at the very end of her last interlude. She also has some magic archery stuff going on with her second class.

IMO the first 3 chapters (Tunnel to Terrabithia) and the final section (Sigrun chapters) are the priority if you don't feel up to reading the whole thing.

You can also just use a web browser, though it's pretty awkward, since there's no way to navigate between pages. Rename the *.epub to *.zip, then extract, then view the index_split HTML files individually.
