After the lastest chapter, Elaine wrote down a bunch of elements she's considering for her 3rd class. Here's your chance to say "I called it!"

Gotta be spacial Elaine needs her own personal bag of holding.

The Element of "Surprise"

I wouldn't expect (but love) her to choose a space-time option (or been shown the choice by the librarian). Spatial is too restricted. Gravity might be an as-close-as-can-be equivalent for space-time when it comes to the leveling system. Her memory abilities might come in handy here. Remember, the closer you are to a gravitational center, the slower time moves for you. Like, GPS satellite time-stamps needs to be adjusted to meet earth time. There's a lot of fictional opportunities here. "Just" gravitation? Fine. Being able to lift weights, fly faster, pull things towards you. OK. But also bending light around you (invisibility), effecting the damned always-watching moons, being able to even (or because of mass "especially") dragons being stuck? The ability to, if we go further, slow down or speed up time itself within a chosen area due to gravitational effects? She wouldn't need to have studied phyics, but only have to remember one Neil deGrasse Tyson video, to remember this shit... and taking the hunch to explore beyond areas any human ever thought about. ;)

That sure is an exciting path to space-time. Less crafty/hobbyish and not necessarily a natural port to inscriptions but elementwise really great as a way to get quite a width of ability.

I would rather she chose gravity than spatial. It could still be used to explain time shenanigans through relativity, but there is less risk of having a class impacting the story negatively. Like Azarinth healer; I love the story, but being able to teleport anywhere becomes boring for the reader at some point.

After a re-read this past week my guess is definitely storm. The way she looks at it at the ranger academy and has to turn it down because she doesn't have the stats for it and now she's swimming in stats. Just a guess

I'm calling mirage for 2 big reasons: 1. Now that everyone knows her secret, she'll need to disappear so she's not captured and forced to be someone's immortality slave 2. The Iona interlude to me foreshadows getting caught in the future. If it is Elaine, either that's the end of her story (I think it would be fitting) or an illusion to keep from getting caught Originally I thought gravity/spacial/brilliance. Now ordering it as mirage/brilliance/gravity/spacial.

You know, I'm a bit late, but I'd love to see what a miasma healer could do. Contagious healing? And rereading Valkyries dawn, mix it with biomancer potential? I voted Spatial/Verdant though. Either bag of holding ability, or growing trees. Both for the mangoes of course.

Sound. Doylist reasoning: Her elements mirror Iona's and sound is the mirror of gravity. She already has the wind base + light which is her theme element. Watsonian reasoning: probably allows for nonleathal takedowns. Is abstract and versatile. Already has the wind base so it should be a natural evolution from there. Inspired by the elf.
