It does let you zoom in

Oh yes, the dreaded UUDD or "uhd". Looking forward to interacting with the other races

Where is Remus?

Anonymous

Unfounded rumours. Let's wait for a chapter that better explains this.

Anonymous

Hmm so Remus shoooould be close to Khazzad on the map. Maybe where Rolland is? Or perhaps Han?

Sebastian Lachs

Good that it is not a Western facing shore. This looks very different.

Alexey Gladkich

Remus is where Xerius Empire is. For some reason Norstrum sea greatly expanded. Elaine currently is where Rolland Kingdom located.

Thanks for the map! To view the full-size version: left-click to open the image, right-click and open in new tab, then left-click to zoom. The detail is much better this way.

Katherine

Is there a map from Elane's time to compare it to? Also, this looks like Mars.

evyatar

The whole upper continent is unmapped after 20 k years??? Damnnnnnn high level much? Or something sinister? Maybe elaine would be the first one with info to give about the other continent

Anonymous

There is Lithos so it should be Iona's time which would check out with Remus missing. But I struggle to find matching geography for how i images Remus. So it might actually be in the northern continent. But then where is that inner ocean Remus is circumventing? And nothing really does box in. The most likely if it's on the southern continent might be the bay around the empire of xerius

evyatar

Guys! Interesting thing! Go left and down and we have a cropped area! There is more to the map? And it doesn’t connect to the right like a globes so… yea could be more

Saramon H

What if Elaine spent way more time in the dungeon than she thought. What if decades passed, and the map has since much changed? She wasn't exactly capable of keeping the time down there...

Joshua Little

I take it the north Island is the immortal lands?

SelkieMyth

It's left deliberately untouched, as it allows numerous high level creatures to roam freely. Think of it as a giant game preserve, Immortal-enforced.

Patrick

There is a literal Japan (Nippon-Koku), middle-bottom. Mind, it isn't a bunch of islands, but the name is the same. Where do all the immortals live again?

Alan McBrayer

She can't track days or months underground, but with her status she can certainly track years.

Andrew Moreton

The Sea is greatly expanded and the experience depletion zone is missing , I suspect someone killed the great Plant thing or it grew up and walked off thus rearranging the local geography somewhat.

Anonymous

Nippon (日本 / Japan) Koku (国 / Country). Literally "Japan Country" I would recommend changing that, at the very least don't use "Nippon".

Anonymous

I'd still think it's a bad name, but slightly more understandable. It could be made by a reincarnated leader, but man it still seems silly.

Alexey Gladkich

@Andrew I suspect we'll get an arc where they figure out that the plant is source of XP eating aura and try to eliminate it in various ways.

Alexey Gladkich

No, Tympestshard Council and most likely surrounding countries are the immortal lands. Selkie explained what's going on with Northern Continent in another comment.

Alexey Gladkich

Checkout the bonus material. It doesn't have any country names - we only know that Remus is in Zone 1.

Andrew Moreton

Distinctly possible, there are 20,000 years to come up with a solution after all. Perhaps Toxic manages a really impressive Poisoning

Anonymous

Before I go digging, which country is Iona in?

SelkieMyth

You can see exactly where my imagination juice ran dry, and I started half phoning it in

Anonymous

Thank you selkie

Melting Sky

Wait a sec. Is Iona's time really 20,000 years in the future? Where did we get that number? I mean I realize she lived in the somewhat distant future but I was thinking like thinking more like 1,500.

Alexey Gladkich

@MeltingSky the year is about 29350. For some reason kindle version of the book has more or less direct mention of the age. Otherwise, there is mention of some Dwarf 525th.

Melting Sky

Woah, assuming Night isn't full of hot air about the world being like 5,000 years old, then Iona's era is way further into the future than I had guessed. It's so far in the future that there might actually be some elves who finished doing their 25 reset cycle perfect class thing. Scary. This brings up another question. Have we ever gotten a glimpse of how the leveling/experience curve looks in this world? We know that the rate at which one levels can be affected by many things including race, class, challenge, danger, location, and novelty. It is also apparent that the curve is not linear. Have we ever been given an idea of just how steeply the experience requirements ramp up?

Plant theory time! That used to be an inland sea totally separated from the ocean. This means it was probably freshwater. Then, when it was finally opened to the ocean and turned salty, the exp eating plant was poisoned by saltwater. Thus, the deadzone disappeared and no one on Pallos knows why. Side note, has it been confirmed that the deadzone disappeared? I don't totally remember other than it not being mentioned in Iona's arcs.

Anonymous

What if the flying lizard's lair distorted not only space but also time?
