Sonic the Hedgehog is notorious for having a library of absolutely terrible games. The worst part is, whenever they run the risk of having something good on their hands, they throw it in the trash! That's what we're talking about today - why Sonic has so many bad games, and why Sega needs to stop going back to the drawing board.

I gave up so many years ago trying to even defend sonic games because every time it feels like i'm in a pizzeria enjoying my pizza and then someone comes along and complains that there's not any tacos. All my life, I've never seen *half* as many sonic fans complain about the games as i've seen critics complain about them. Sonic Unleashed is one of the most heavily mocked games in the series and yet it routinely is described by the actual fans as one of the absolute best in the series. Sonic has bad games, and it has great games, and I'd rather it continue having a mix of incredible highs and dizzying lows, rather than...I honestly don't know what critics "want" sonic to be. They seem to want it to be Mario now, but I'm pretty sure that's just cause there's currently a new mario game releasing alongside a new sonic game.

Not in a thousand years did I ever think The Decemberists and Sonic the Hedgehog would mash up together.
