God of War is coming to PC, and wouldn't you know it, zealous PlayStation fans are up in arms! They see betrayal, contempt, and even hate, almost as if they put far too much emotional stock in a corporation.   

That stake, and the assumption that someone "deserves" exclusivity in return for their loyalty, interests me. Plus it's just funny to see overenthusiastic fans lose their minds.

I built a 2nd gaming PC for my household to have as a "next gen console" replacement, and we've loved Death Stranding and Horizon Zero Dawn on PC, and I'm sure God of War will be great. I'm done with regular consoles aside from the Switch because there's no other legitimate way to play their new games. I'm tired of having to humiliate myself standing in lines or refreshing web pages for hours on end trying to get them, being told by Microsoft or Sony when and how I get to upgrade, losing portions of my library when they arbitrarily decide to ditch backwards compatibility, having ads thrust on my home screen on the machine that I supposedly "own", blah blah. Microsoft and Sony can go shove it, and so can their insane celebrants who are too stupid to punch upwards instead of sideways or down.

IMO it is ridiculous to expect exclusive content for. a console that is still virtually impossible to get. Plus, at least I can back up my saves on PC. I lost hours of saved content that was supposedly in some ‘cloud’ somewhere when I moved my two accounts to Xbox one x. I was told that I ‘must have deleted it myself’ and it was impossible to recover.

As someone who can't afford tons of consoles, I for one am thrilled that I'll finally be able to play God of War. I wish they'd port Bloodborne too!

Console ended with the PSP (PS Vita) / Nintendo DS. Since then they are just disguised marketing machines that incedentally play games, too.

Eh, I never understood people who bitch at more games coming to more platforms. What I’m more mad about is they’re charging $60 for a game that came out years ago. I think you can get it on sale for $20 on the ps4 store or even part of ps plus. Disgusting really

I think something you missed in the discussion was cost. Sure, PCs can be better but building a good gaming PC is not cheap. Graphics cards cost as much as 2 or 3 consoles. Thrn you worry about drivers and how well games play. Plus you have to maintain them yourself. There is a huge cost to PCs in terms of time and money but you have a huge benefit to with way more games, much prettier games, and modding. That is sort of beside the point of exclusivity. I hate it. Most of the exclusive titles are not amazingly popular and would do okay with sales across platforms. They do it purely for fomo and to justify console existence but among consoles it is damn stupid. I hate the Nintendo walled garden for their products and the switch is aweaome anyway.

Right now the PS5 is retailing at the same level as my monthly rent payment, and ain’t no way I’m shilling out that much money for an exclusive game. Waiting for the PC port is significantly cheaper.

Call me a sucker but I know I'm going to get a PS5 eventually, probably about a week before Persona 6 drops. No way am I waiting three years to play it.

Also keep in mind that out there is where all of the games are. You don’t actually need to play the latest ones when there are also all of the games to play. You also don’t actually need to play the games on max/ultra/whatever. I know. It is crazy. But those sliders and toggles are actually adjustable. Wild.
