Scott Cawthon, creator of Five Nights at Freddy's, has been giving money to some of the worst people in America. While he's free to do so, I'm free to say he absolutely sucks for it.

Some have argued that contributing to the very worst Republicans around is harmless, because it's his money and he can what he wants. But when you're directly funding hateful, spiteful people who have coordinated attacks on LGBTQIA+ communities... you suck.

No one deserves to be afraid. As a Christian myself I don’t understand American fundamentalists. They just don’t seem to get it. And yet somehow they and Rome are the Global face of my faith.

We made it that far into the video. ...and we do care. Never doubt it.

Great video! Glad I've never purchased a Fnaf game.

I've known this for some time since I was once browsing Opensecrets to see if some famous people donated and to whom. Scott is a known evangelical so it was no surprise he gave to Ben Carson in 2015, but then in 2019 and 2020 his donations really picked up to some bad hombres.

Let's make up an imaginary threat: 'LGBTQ people are dangerous, measurably more dangerous than the baseline threat level inherent to any human being' and then legislate to protect the public from those imaginary dangers.

Religious groups fund politics. Immediate followup news title should read: Religious group sued for abusing tax-free money, loses tax-exempt status. As for Scott, well... screw him. Never had any use for him, really. He's a religious nutbar, he's always been a religious nutbar, and nobody should give religious nutbars money.

Well said James Stephanie. 💛

James Stephanie is my belief system :)

As an Australian, watching the USA self destruct is sad. Also I love when some Dick quotese bible at me and I'm like, wait, don't you have a sister? Why isn't she sold to a Man? Like it Literally has a fucking guide in the Bible for how to sell your 15 year old Daughter to Men over 40, a Price guide. Then they say I choose what parts to follow and what parts I don't. Oh, well that means you don't follow the bible, you just use it as a weapon and you can fuck off. People can have religion, I don't care, but don't pretend your suddenly BELOW your own beliefs. The claim, "I can say what Iw ant it's in the Bible" is bullshit, it's what YOU BELIEVE and you can get nut shotted if you say this shit. BTW for me my issue is I have a disabled sister and religious people think they can walk up and accuse my parents of being terrible people coz "only bad peole have disabled kids", unless your a fundamentalist christian and then it's just "god's Trial", it's fucking disgusting.

Munchman

Just to clarify, the Below their religion, they basically say, My beliefs are set by the Bible and the bible is EVERYTHING so they are just poor peole who can't go against the bible and it's teachings, so they are not sayign bad things, the bible MAKES them do it, like a slave, or in other words they are below their beliefs, there beliefs are above thema dn tell them to say terrible things... and again it's disgusting... And yeah love your Examples, I also love how in the Bible it says if your not of the right race, your nothing, so Americans are apparently NOTHING in the eyes of the bible... Now a bit on the other side... Song of Songs is a bit of fun... it's King Solomon sending messages to his Mistress... Coz Bigomy is FINE if your a king, but everyone else can get fucked!!! alos remember if your wife won't give you a boy, fuck your slaves and have kids with them... It's a message reinforced ALL OVER the Bible, it's the Bible way!

Ethan

It's really a state-level problem. If you live in the right US state, it's pretty good (so long as one stays vigilant). Thankfully, the TERF issue isn't nearly as bad here as in the UK. Conservatives here have a much harder time dividing and conquering the left on LGBTQ issues since they mostly view all non-hetero and non-cis people as gross deviants.

THANK you! I'm glad someone said it, and so well. You're the best. <3

Stephanie, as always thank you for delivering content like this. It's not always easy for gamers to acknowledge the despicable nature of their favorite developers. On a related note, would you be willing to do a video on Chris Avellone by any chance? He was my personal favorite developer back in the day but after the abuse allegations surfaced, I have struggled with distancing myself from his work (which happens to include some of my all time favorite games). I recently heard that he went to work for Owlcat. While he seemed to be repentant in his initial response, I still find it difficult to support his work and I'm not sure there is a lot of awareness out there about him. At any rate, thank you for doing this kind of journalism. It is something we need more of.

I can enjoy some of the fanworks that came out of the Five Nights at Freddy's series; the pure imagination going around within the fandom is amazing, especially for such uninspired games. But my faith in Scott Cawthon has been obliterated by now and I will not support him in any monetary manner anymore at this point.

It appears to have upset the fanboys though looking at the unsubscription rate on YouTube in the last few days for one of their prophets to be shamed and shunned so.
