Electronic Arts wants you to give it all of your money as its business model shifts more and more to microtransactions and gambling. It's not above being positively vile in this endeavor.
EA is doing all it can to funnel its FIFA players toward one single mode - FIFA Ultimate Team, the mode that runs on loot boxes. I think we can safely call the company's reckless and predatory behavior evil now.

This is why I fucks with Jim's vids. Not only are they entertaining, but they're so goddamn informative they make my own positions better informed, or challenge them and cause me to change. Tho I've been on the fuck EA train for a long while, finally burned by them for the last time when Andromeda got no DLC. EA and FIFA were competing for most EVIL org on the planet, then they realized they could enhance that evil by simply combining their powers. Sterling, have you tried sensory dep tanks? They have some drug like effects, and are great for ptsd.

I'm surprised EA doesn't ask for your credit card number to even press start....yet.

I actually had to tell my cousin and his wife not to buy games digitally when they got their son a Switch Lite. My reasoning is that even if they get him a game with Loot Boxes, he won't be able to empty their bank account on impulse purchases. No seriously, when Epic Games complained in court about how going outside the App Store was an inconvenience for customers, Apple shot back by saying they're not fighting for convenience, they're fighting to make it easier to make a purchase based on snap judgements instead of taking the time to think if they need that purchase or not. And if I have to go to Apple to point out how video game companies make money on people, like kids, who don't realize just how easy it is to spend more money then they have, I don't know what else to say then "Companies only make spending money convenient for you and nothing else."

I think the worst but is the normalization. Giving free boxes gets players over the hurdel of paying for the first one and they keep on giving you free ones to just make it part if your experience.

other ones I like : "companies are there to make money", (- yeah traffikers and drug dealers are also only in for the money but that doesn't make it ethically any better.) and "parents just need to do parenting" - while true, giving predatory buisnesses a free pass to attach any strings they want to a product, without any of the responsibility, is still wrong.

My word, a journalist actually followed up on the old, "taken out of context," line for clarification? I've been clamouring for journalists to do that for most of my adult life. Hold up, can one person, 'clamour?' It feels like group activity. Not important; you get my drift.

Another brilliant video James Stephanie. I loved that wordplay with the title. 😃 I would love to see some government (any government please!) force all of these companies (EA, Activision, the mobile ones, etc) to refund all microtransaction money. Pull it out of Bobby Kotick's horde, and Andrew Wilson's, and Yves Guillemot (he should be in prison for running Ubisoft like the Catholic church anyway so what's he gonna need that money for), and every other Executive class person at these predatory companies. Make these assholes actually pay for their crimes. But no government wants capitalism to stop and it sucks. But you are fabulous James Stephanie and I appreciate you for continuing to call out this evil.

Noticed EA it's evil more than a decade ago. After they squeezed the last drop of blood out of Westwood Studios. Turning our beloved franchises, into something fubar. And treating the original team like trash. EA is dead to me for so long. And not one cent, not even half a one. Will ever, ever... go in their direction, out of my pocket anymore. And I'm still hoping, the company will just get it's due one day. Much like Blizzard. Gathering of demonic rituals on both of those. My automatic response to any 'new octupple-A surprise mechanic'- title that has this devil's mark on it. "Nope!" These leeches are dead to me. Simply, and for the rest of my shrimpy little meaningless life. Dead.

The definition of evil I always thought was very accurate is an over abundance of greed and a lack of empathy. We can all agree that EA fits that description to a t.

Jesus christ! Are all of your parlor replies as amazing as this??

"It's marked privileged and confidential." That shit drives me crazy. My workplace used to mark everything privileged before I got here, then I showed up and I asked what the grounds were, and there were none. Privileged information is a very specific thing: you cannot be compelled to testify about that conversation. It arises under very specific circumstances, and it can be waived. Just putting "privileged and confidential" on something isn't a magic spell.

I think one person can clamor. It just takes a lot more work.

EA embodies all the deadliest Sins, with the exception being lust obviously.

I will assume on Twitter shitsticks will claim EA isn't Evil. But that's just Twitter, where Shit for Brains is a Normalality. A little more on what you said in the Video, your right, but it's actually a bit deeper. Today peole say things like, "I hate this Game" or "hate this Movie" and realistically only one movie I can point to was one I actually hated. Terminator 3... it really is hatable, it took all the things of the previous 2 movies and ruined them and I knew every movie after would suck... and they did... Anyway... My point is we have had words like Hate and Evil defanged and then devalued. People here evil and they think... Wait, it's not a Saturday morning Villian, if it's not big and fat with a Pig Face, it's not EVIL!!! While in the other coner, we get told to HATE everything we don't like to make it all watered down as a stance. Okay gettign long here, but for me I make sure to say I dislike a movie when it is shit, and reserve hate for movies that well have real malice or bullshit, for instance a movie like Army of the Dead can be hated as it's a waste of money that could have been given to a real directors and not Hack Snyder ato try to jimmy in Rape fantasies into... that then got removed coz someone remembered you can't have Zombies raping women... Seriously Google it... The three women in Army of the Dead were meant to be raped... well one at least was gonna get raped... Hack Snyder really is sick in the head. Okay I'm rambling but my point is, don't follow the BS, Dislike if soething isn't LIKED, Hate if somethign actively does wrong. Evil is not just for "cartoon villians" Evil is simple, if you ACTIVELY set out to hurt people either through not caring or by directly targeting the weak or vulnerable... your fucking Evil and should be fucking stopped (or dragged out into the street and shot like a rabid dog).

This is true. I think it comes from clickbait or trying to sell something. Everything must be the most extreme for anyone to notice anything. This is true for toilet paper reviews to movies or games. Like, I was telling people that the Republican base were nazis and a bunch said "where are all of them because I think this is you being an asshole!?" And I broke out pictures of nazis waving swastika flags and confederate flags with them stating they would vote republican. These words still mean something though. Evil, worst, best... but nothing on the internet is mediocre or okay. Steph gives a 7 or 8 to a game and everyone asked why it isn't a 9.5.

Big twipple-A companies _do_ help the industry of small studios - when they go belly up and the now free developers spring forth from the wound and explore their creativity.
