Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has, amazingly, lived completely up to expectations. It's the Castlevania game we knew we needed, but Konami didn't want us to have.

Koji Igarashi isn't trying to hide the fact that Bloodstained is a Castlevania game in all but name, and he doesn't have to. It's a heartfelt, authentic, beautiful MetroidVania game and I am so very happy with it.

Was that Shovel Knight in that cave sequence?

Awesome, gonna have to play this soon.

I think this is the last Kickstarter I signed on to... I'm glad it's turned out so well. May it give Konami heartburn and regret.

Oh, that is good news. I'm sure it'll find its way into my library soon because like you I'm not great at this sort of game but I still love them.

Sid

Yay a Kickstarter that followed through!

Finally a game that respect my time and money!

Asterion Del Toro

Think there might be a good Jimquisition on how Bloodstained was able to deliver but Mighty No. 9 didn't?

Trevor Bond

Oh hell yes. It's about time. I knew Koji would deliver. Heck, the little 8-bit game they released was more worth it than half the stuff out there!

JIM me old mukka! I'm gutted, I bought this on the switch following your glowing review (I know you didn't have access to the switch version at your time of review). My god what a load of shit it is. The frame rate is pants, the graphics look like an N64 port and the bugs and gramma issues are unforgivable! Even worse I got it on the nintendo eshop so no refunds for me!!!
