so when koreans talk about how soju goes down smooth or fresh, it's not about how harsh or smooth......it's sort of lost in translation. It's more about the ACTUAL taste and how pure or clean the taste is because most soju is really cheap (like the kinds you were describing you had) but like you said is generally not that high in alcohol content. IF you ever get the chance (like if you're in the city ever) try Hwayeo soju

so KingKong actually merged with Starship (or bought by them). Prior to, Starship was only a music company and KingKong was only an actor agency. Starship bought them back in 2015 even tho they had been around since like 2009. Part of the merger deal was that KingKong would keep it's name for all the actors

I think the thing to remember is kdramas is a broad category and there are all types of dramas just like in the U.S. Yes, they have a lot of high camp acting which I think you will see a lot in kvariety because they have jokes that become extremely popular and viral but they also have serious dramas. Some of my favorites are Signal, Bloodhounds, Missing: The Other Side, and Move to Heaven.

I know it's probably just the blonde bob but whenever I see dayoung i always have to think of siyeon, they just give me similar vibes Also the dongwook vampire allegations never get old to me, i love that you always come back to that (but i agree he is definitely not human) i get what you mean with the camp feel of some kdramas, but there are so so many serious ones with complex plotlines and heavy topics etc. I can highly recommend The Glory, i think it's incredibly well done. Also Law School was another one I loved, though it didn't get nearly as much traction (fun fact: kim beom [orange hat] and hyeyoung [long hair on the left, got many answers] are part of the main cast). i also watched many dramas that idols i liked starred in, but some of those do feel a bit trashy (no offense) especially when the cast is very idol heavy, but that kinda has its own charm too lol
