This film hits very deep! One thing I absolutely love about Aamir Khan is his emotional availability as an actor; he brings it all on the table. Having to see Ishaan lose himself in the boarding school and just pleading for help was heart-breaking every second. Thankfully he found the right teacher. Unfortunately in south-asian culture, there is very less awareness of learning disabilities. People tend to just see it as laziness, stupidness or weak-minded. I work with students who have an intellectual disability but it's such a joy to teach them; it doesn't matter if they can't grasp everything but there is so much they're capable of.
