More bees (Patreon)

I also drew these, before I redid the queen. I'm trying to figure out what the workers and drones look like. One of my favorite things about bees is how stocky and fuzzy they are, like a lil pill shape with legs, but I was having difficultly translating that into a humanoid shape. I think the drone turned out the best visually, but he doesn't have a real pelvis, which he kinda needs.... so i can put pants on him...... the struggle

I was also considering putting worker bees in more gender neutral uniforms because eusocial insects have very different constructs around gender then most mushi (also sexuality, most workers are asexual). Idk if i'll dig very deep into that in story though, MCM is more of a vehical for fluffy tropes and bug facts. Probably worker ants and bees just wear whatever uniform they prefer and go by whatever pronouns suit them, like Peach the ant goes by she and has a skirted uniform.

I was also wondering what to do with drones! Irl they die after mating, and the queen starts a hive with all the gametes she needs for her whole life. I toyed with the idea of keeping them just so there would be like 8 kings who do nothing but look pretty, but I think I'm gonna keep the whole dying thing. It's an interesting fact, and has weird cultural implications. Some mushi probably think drones 'dying for love' is super romantic, some think it's kinda horrifying. Also it means there's gonna be a ton of useless beautiful princes, which is PERFECT for shoujo
