Sidney Lumet made so many great movies its hard to pick a favorite. Serpico and Dog Day Afternoon are one hell of an Al Pacino combo. He wasn't particularly flashy, but really knew how to bring out the story in the best possible way. One of the greats.

If you enjoyed this one, I highly recommend “Dog Day Afternoon” as well. It’s another Pacino classic also directed by Sydney Lumet that came out just a couple years after Serpico.
