"Great Screen Writing"

Vote on what I should watch and react to next! This Poll will end most likely Wednesday Morning and I'll choose the TOP 2 to react to Wednesday and Friday.

No worries, I plan on actually prolonging these recommendations so don't trip if you don't see your selection on here first!

Slingblade is so good, and obviously so is Broadcast News, hence those are my two choices.

Kim Murphy

The Apartment & Sling Blade, are a 65 year old's choices.

I think that the original "Some Folks Call It a Sling Blade" short, should be part of the watch, to compare the productions... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyFD0JfiKfc

Sling Blade is a fine choice, but boy, I'd like to see Sierra Madre beat out Michael Clayton y'know for the classics' sake. Still not understanding why a Billy Wilder film is struggling in a screenwriting poll, but aight

Kaitlin

I’m surprised Sierra and Apartment are doing so well and I’m completely confused about why Withnail is dragging.

RICHARD

Sling Blade really is the easy pick this week, after that there's some great competition.

Bert Taverner

Yeah Withnail is British, so I'm suspecting that is a factor in that many of these patrons just don't know about it. Shame too because its utterly brilliant and very darkly funny in almost a "if Rik Mayall and Ade Edmonson were more highbrow" kind of way. The Apartment should really win this with flying colors; that's one of the shortlist golden screenplays of Hollywood. But, yeah, dialing back to the b&w classics from before the 1970s doesn't seem to blip all that much on a lot of these patrons' radars. If only, right?

You should add Babylon to the mix

Definitely depends on what movies are pitched against each other. It's a surprisingly even contest at the moment. Withnail and I is level pegging with Rocknrolla. That's actually striking something of a blow for cinephiles. The Apartment is giving a good account of itself. I've seen Michael Clayton cop an absolute bath in previous polls - but here it is now on the verge of a silver medal. There's hope for any movie under the right circumstances (even Monos).

JL Green

I forgot to mention Robert Blake plays a Mexican child in this film.

Add Iron Monkey to a future list

Linda

I can't find Sling Blade to stream anywhere.

Jason Cooley

Very heartening to see The Apartment and Sierra Madre getting good votes.
