Character Background from SpiritOfHoundingDoom:  Nalani, The Chef from Pakistan - Born in Karachi, Pakistan, Nalani had a  rough but not unhappy childhood. Growing up in one of the poorer  neighborhoods, she had to work odd jobs and be resourceful to help her  family make ends meet. Her original name is lost to time - as Nalani got  her current name from an American soldier of Hawaiian origin who was  stationed not far from her family home. As a child she used to sneak  into the military bases to salvage what she could - quickly becoming a  regular guest there. She befriended this soldier who gave her the  nickname Nalani - serenity of the skies. And the name stuck into her  adult life. Nalani's family however wanted her to have a better life -  and when the time came, with what money they managed to gather, sent her  to Cambridge University to study economics. She did exceptionally well,  becoming one of the faculty's best students. In Cambridge, Nalani  discovered a passion for buffets, as she would always go to eat in the  Chinese all-you-can-eat buffet not far from the University. When she  finished her studies, armed with the knowledge she acquired and her  passion for food, Nalani moved to Oxford and opened her own  Pakistani-food buffet, to great success. She now seeks to bring her  family over the UK so they too can enjoy the fruit of her efforts.
