This is the most traumatizing and gruesome and horrific episode I've ever seen for any show or movie. The scene with Rem at the end really bothered me. When you think it can't get worse it manages to get 10 times worse when it turns out she's still alive and still trying. Out of all the horror movies and violent shows and animes I've watched, the end of this episode takes the cake as the most traumatizing. On a more positive note, this show is pumping out constant bangers. I think I've enjoyed every song so far.

Settsu

oh you have not heard the bangers yet let me tell ya!

On your take before you started: it’s sooooo refreshing seeing a reactor pick up on Subarus hero complex. Nearly every protagonist, especially in this genre suffers from this trope, but Re:Zero forces you to bear through the other end of the spectrum. Where your protag doesn’t have this awesome power to bail him every time he puts his foot in his mouth or does some cringe shit. Re:Zero provides a more down to earth look at the otaku complex, breaks it down and forces you see this personality type at it’s lowest and most vulnerable. The end of episode 13 is what sold me on the anime. the lead girl actually holding the lead guy accountable for his actions? Yes. Yes yes yes!
