That's because there's a new updating coming for patreon on only. This code is only used for the newest update for the Patreon version. Code is used in the Album for when you see the sex scenes and etc. There you will see a part where you put the code in

Putting in codes only work for patreon verison of the game,not Steam. As the patreon version of the game updates with each month closer to the full release,they release a update for month alongside its code. example,in May we get a code and a update with it. We use the code on the Patreon verison and it should work as long as you got the newest update via the corresponding month.
