Big old update this time! Tons and tons and tons of bug fixes, also all of the ones applied to the final patreon build, along with a new camera system for Cloverton, so expect a little bugginess there and tell us how it works (Please get us screenshots, videos, gifs, and other stuff too! The static-camera system as we're calling it is something that we really want to de-kink because we think it provides the best image of the game possible). This build, as you will find in the notes, also includes the first mac build ever available to the public, so please take a swing at it!

Judge Heath here folks!

Alright guys! It has been another hectic month, but after a rocky start, things are finally looking like they'll even out! We'll see if February, the month we all dread, will put us out again. This month we should have the most stable build you've all seen in a while, and with two major new features: Town Events and a functioning Water Tower. You can now build the water tower, and set up Mr. Buckets to automatically water your fields! Further, you can now buy Eggs every week around the middle of the week, and sell them towards the end. Jerkin will occasionally appear as well and allow you to buy monsters from him (meaning you can no longer buy them from the Guild). Finally, you can find the fem-wolf HDs in the game!

This upcoming month's build will include, if all goes well, the final version of the Farming System, more functional farm structures and interiors, and the rudimentry crafting and refining system for food stuffs. Once that's done, all that's left is to get in weather and the tournaments, and we'll be out of alpha and into beta!

Finally, to those of you who have been asking for such things, we are experimenting, tentatively, with a Mac Build, and with save file transfers, at least between hotfix versions if not full versions of the game. In Beta we'll see about getting that up to full versions of the game.

Save Compatibility

We are experimenting with save compatibility after this version in the patch notes we will mark it with either "Save File Compatible" Or "Save File Compatibility Break". Hotfixes are more likely going to be compatibility but major version have a smaller chance of that happening.If we can get the system working to our satisfaction, then we’ll hopefully start allowing save file transfers between major versions during Beta.

Changes

  • Jones/Armadillo guy does not sell monsters anymore.
  • Now Sold by one of the Event Vendors who has a chance to appear every month
  • Eggs can be bought as well.
  • Crops now lose 1 water point an hour, watering gives 20 points of water, a crop dies if it goes above 20 or below -10.
  • Crops now showed a watered sprite if they have 1 or more water.
  • Starting monsters now have random domesticity between 30 - 50.
  • Updated credits to match the patreon page’s credits.
  • Items are now ordered by Caterorgy > Name > Quality
  • When a UI window is open the game is now paused
  • Change the font color of the messages 
  • Doubled the size of damage numbers and increased the time to fade out.
  • Doubled the size of miss/crit/resist texts and increased the time to fade out.   
  • Lower for the hitstop length from 0.25 to 0.2 seconds.
  • Astygmatism common trait renamed to Astigmatism
  • Bleeding Heart common trait is now combat only instead of farm only.
  • Contemplative common trait is now farm only instead of combat only.  
  • Enabled the Emergency Exit button at all times just in case.
  • Disabled vsync by default and made it so you can re-enable from the options menu.*

  • Unit Bars are now hidden while an attack animation is active

Town Events

QOL

  • Monsters’ icons are now their species portrait
  • Monsters in the inventory now show their name.
  • The feeding icon is disabled if you have nothing to feed them.
  • Monsters in various UI now have a tooltip with their names on it.
  • Added hotkeys to the dock window, breeding window, and combat window.
  • Breeding Window - Left Shift + 1 or 2 to put the monster in a breeding slot, Left Ctrl for Harvesting
  • Dock Window - Left Shift + 1 or 2 to put the monster in a dock worker slot
  • Combat Window - Left Shift + 1, 2, or 3 to put into an active ally slot.
  • Non-Stackable items no longer display item count  
  • Made it so that when are at a shop it is defaulted to the “buy” screen rather than the “Sell” screen.
  • Gave more information on saves
  • There are now 15 instead of 4 save slots  
  • Changed the text when filling a watering can to “Watering can Filled!”

Notes

  • We totally have a mac build this time, but we have absolutely no clue how well it will or won’t work! Please be patient with us! And if you’re testing on Mac, and please let us know and report it as such! This is mostly so we can just test the baseline stability of the game on Mac and how big an effort will need to be invested in order to see it through.
  • In a preliminary step to fixing a confirmed bug related to high domesticity and negative traits, in the stats window it will show the real value of the stat. However if a value is less than 1 for the calculations of the game, it will treat as it is 1. This will have screwy effects on monster stats and abilities until we change up how the stats are calculated.

 

Known Issues

* This is a potential fix to the linux build not working. This may cause slow downs, so please make sure to turn it on if you're experiencing slowdown issues before reporting to us 'this build is so much slower' and similar.

Same as twisted mystery and M rooney, immediately after the intro with the air-whale the game crashes, however for a few frames before the application closes it shows the center of town instead of the interior of the airship. otherwise all the menu options work.

Just a random thought but are there going to be any feral version of the creatures or maybe angels or demons or maybe crossbreeding between the animals to make hybrids. it was a good idea in the breeding season but i guess cause the game was closed it was never expanded upon or finished at all. i think the hybrid idea would be great actually also cool for the battle system too.

Hey Team just a heads up i have played your public build and few several flaws that needs attention eventually. one is the quest logs not displaying which helps us progress through the story, choosing our skills in the farm house near the bed in the closet, NSFW sounds was disabled guessing for updated sounds, bug camera needs more fixing in some areas, i also feel like the plants need an indication of some kind to show the player a progression bar of when the plant is in their phases and an estimation of when it dies or needs more water(kinda like a timer or a percent bar ), i also went ahead and posted here since you would have more priority of seeing this. also in combat the cow race i feel like the mad cow trait is really useless to add since early game we need a healer to even progress through so def don't see any point to this trait since 1 it does not apply poison effect and 2 the damage for the enemy is very random and not a expected min dmg - max dmg random setting since attacks go majorly below(also the fact the dmg numbers bug out and you don't see accurate dmg count).

Before I give feedback I want to say that I would love to work with you, write whatever you need. I'm a 22 year old aspiring screewriter with a bit of experience in amateur writing and years and years of experience reading through dialog in text heavy RPGs, so I think my ideas would really improve the game. My education also touched on game development. (I can tell more in priv) If I assume correctly you're Polish just like me and I can speak English so there won't be any communication issues with me. Please write me at silvertooth666@gmail.com I love a lot of things about this project, I think it has a great potential and you should put in all the effort cause the animation and art are top tier and it's bound to be a success. Here are the issues: Inconsistent highlighting of interactive objects. Not enough feedback SFX No tutorial Fights need to be quicker, I propose making the enemies give up when they're outnumbered at least 2:1 and at least two of player's party have HP above 50% while they themselves have HP below 50%. Text boxes and item descriptions needed. Idle animations needed Idle nature soundtrack needed Some atmospheric vfx needed The sex animations would be better when incorporated into the story and gameplay.
