Problems

The Tech's came out to fix the last issue - an error code on the rear fan. One Tech suspected that the Power Supply might be the problem, and so they replaced that too. What do you think happened next?

Yeah! Problem Returned! Dell wants to replace it with a refurbished computer, but I don't like that option. A refurbished Dell is just a Dell that had so many problems they had to take it back. The team in Huston, who failed miserably with my PC, are the ones who refurbish.

I found 2 people on reddit with the exact same problem - CPU locked at 0.38 GHz. In one case it was the power supply. The other case is a couple weeks old, with no posted solution.

The basic problem is that it's a Dell, and Dells are now unreliable crap. You may get lucky, and everything will work perfectly, or you may have one issue after another. My problem is one of many issues, such that even a new computer is no guarantee.

Dell will be following up with me on Monday. This whole situation has been a huge problem for my depression and substance abuse issues. I had been making real progress, and unfortunately, all of it has been lost. Art and gaming are the two things that have helped me the most.

Solutions

Besides holding Dell accountable and making them spend as much money as I can, I need to do something positive too. Sadie and I exchange naughty fantasies regularly. Many of them become part of the story. I'm going to write and post Hucow 169's "diary". I'm hoping it will be a nice way for me to express my creativity and continue the story while this gets worked out.

I'm also going to try and get my old PC up and running again. It's a Dell R4 from 2014. Damn thing lasted over 7 years with updgrades and never had an issue. It still worked perfectly when I replaced it. That's why I bought another Dell. It has RAM limits that make it impossible to render big scenes, but I can still make great art with it, if the fight with Dell drags on.

The big lesson is never buy a Dell!

One major problem is that I used a Dell credit card. I've been a loyal customer for 20 years.

I agree with making them pay till it is resolved. Something seems to have happened with the quality control of either the components or the assembled products. While a refurbished unit can be as good as a new unit, the fact that if you buy a refurbished unit they do not give you the same warranty shows that their records show that they can not get them as good as new.
