World of Declines (Patreon)

Many of you may have heard about this by now. However I figured I'd give a brief mention of it on my Patreon Page!

Patreon changed something with how they process payments and its resulting in a lot of declined pledges. Paypal seems mostly unaffected as it seems most of the declined pledges were done via debit/credit/prepaid cards.  

There has yet to be any official word as to why this is happening. Although the common consensus is that Patreon switched their payment processing center to the UK, with no warning, triggering all sorts of anti-fraud alerts from people's banks.

For some people a simple retry is enough to get the charge to go through.. Other's have to actually call their banks.. and others actually got their cards frozen. 

If you're a creator and you've lost 20-50% of your monthly earnings to declines.. Or a Patron wondering "Why are all my charges declining".. This is why


But hey, at least you'll know if your bank has anti-fraud measures in place right? XD
