This was wild. I grew up the same way, I am a product of the hood but I was fortunate enough to make my way out after college. But seeing them, I agree with you it will always be a little triggering hearing white folk say nigga, but I understand it and it makes sense because I grew up the same way and we had a few whites in our ghetto ass hood who said nigga and it was just like…yeah they are apart of the community, they got the homies backs through thick and thin so yeah it just..was, if that makes sense. It’s always crazy too seeing other hoods, like I don’t know that hood at all, but then again I do, because there is just a National familiarity with projects and hoods in the US it’s crazy and interesting how that works. But yeah they GHETTO, they gave me too many flashbacks for comfort. Child, I left the hood and ain’t neva going back 😂 But there was a sense of community that I miss, like he mentioned first Friday, we had things like that and block parties and cookouts and luau’s and they were fun..until somebody got shot or something wild popped off but yeah, I miss the sense of community in that regard, but everything else…yeah I’m cool on the hood life 😂

"until somebody got shot" lmaoooo so true! The parties and other hood events were definitely fun but the nonsense that came along with it was a mess. And totally agree about the national familiarity, there's so many common factors that make all these hoods really similar, so that's interesting to see. I don't miss any of it though lol
